Caniac, is this site currently using Zedo as a way to launch ad content?

Over the last day or so I've been trying to get rid of some malicious spyware on my laptop. I thought I'd gotten rid of everything, but it seems to have come back after I visited here today. I'm not sure if Zedo is the root cause, so I'm not sure if I'm the only one who has been affected by this, but I thought I'd throw it out here in case anyone has had something similar happen.

What's happening to me is that I'll be in the middle of something, doesn't have to be an internet session, I can be running an application on my PC, and Zedo launches and starts popping up various web sites. I run a Spybot search and destroy, and Zedo comes up as the culprit.

Anyhow, it may just be me, or it may be another web site I've visited, but since I hang out here a lot I thought I'd at least throw out the alert.

This happening to anyone else or am I just the lucky one?

Thanks for letting me know. The problem has been lessened but my IT department can't figure out how to get rid of it completely. I'm just hoping I don't have to give up my laptop to get it reimaged. Needless to say this thing is almost surgically joined to me.

LTD, I'm sure your IT dept. would be looking into steps like these, but check this page out to see how to kill Zedo:

No they aren't, but mine absolutely is.

LTD....the main person in IT who heads up major projects for my department is excluded from my generalization. She is great....or tries to be but, with the support she has its tough.

I called IT to remove Adobe Acrobat from one workstation and install it on mine. We only had three licenses and I didn't have admin rights on my PC so, I had to call them. It took me 30 minutes to explain to the guy they sent that Acrobat Reader, which was on my PC, is NOT the same as Adobe Acrobat. I eventually just told him to set me up as freaking admin and I'd do it myself and leave him alone.

It's a baaaaaad, baaaaaaad IT department.
