I've heard about this for many months now... he went to china to play for a few games for the China Sharks.

This dude apparantly hasnt run draper enough times.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -Claude Lemieux has signed a tryout contract with the San Jose Sharks (http://sharks.nhl.com/) in hopes of returning to the NHL after a five-year absence.
The 43-year-old Lemieux is expected to report to the Sharks' AHL affiliate in Worcester this week, San Jose spokesman Scott Emmert said Monday.
Lemieux won four Stanley Cup titles during 18 NHL seasons with five clubs while earning a reputation as one of hockey's top agitators. He won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the NHL's playoff MVP in 1995 with the New Jersey Devils (http://devils.nhl.com/), and he also won championships with Montreal (1986) and Colorado (1996) before adding a fourth ring back with New Jersey in 2000.
His 80 career playoff goals are ninth in league history, but Lemieux hasn't played in the NHL since the 2002-03 season, which he spent with Phoenix and Dallas. Earlier this year, Lemieux played a two-game stint with the China Sharks, San Jose's affiliate in Shanghai, while gauging his ability to make a full comeback.
Lemieux is a longtime friend of Sharks general manager Doug Wilson, who has taken a chance on veteran players before. Defenseman Sandis Ozolinsh (http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8458544) played 38 games with San Jose last season after few clubs were interested in the 35-year-old former All-Star.

And.....
The San Jose Sharks have recalled forward Claude Lemieux (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/?name=claude+lemieux) and reassigned forwards Brad Staubitz (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/?name=brad+staubitz) and Tom Cavanagh (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/?name=tom+cavanagh) to the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League.
Lemieux has played in 23 games with Worcester, posting three goals and 11 points, 24 penalty minutes and a +2 rating. He was originally signed by San Jose as a free agent in December.
''The more I was told this was impossible, the more I wanted it,'' Lemieux said after his first practice with the Sharks. ''I still feel that way. This is just the first step to life back in the NHL. I got into this with my eyes wide open, knowing that most folks out there would think that I'm out of my mind to attempt to do something like this.''
Montreal Canadiens' head coach Guy Carbonneau, who was a team mate of Lemieux's in the late 1980's was surprised to see Lemieux back in the NHL.
"You see Chris Chelios (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/?name=chris+chelios), who is 46 now, but when you consider the fact that Claude stopped playing for three or four years, it shows the character he has," Carbonneau told THE CANADIAN PRESS. "I'm happy for him.
"I didn't think at first that it would be possible but now we see that nothing is impossible."
The Sharks also placed defenceman Brad Lukowich (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/?name=brad+lukowich) on injured reserve, retroactive to Jan. 6.
Staubitz played in 15 games with San Jose this season, posting three points and 42 penalty minutes. In 23 games with Worcester, he has one assist and 58 penalty minutes.
Cavanagh spent 12 games with San Jose, adding one assist and two penalty minutes. In 21 games with Worcester, he posted 18 points and 17 penalty minutes.

He's back

ETA: he's skating tonight on the 4th line. So, i guess he did it, he's been at least a game.
