And SWEET GOD I am excited about this coming year.

Markov signed!? *Ohhhhhh yeah* Our defense is looking EXTREMELY well.

Do you guys think we're done getting people for the offseason? Or is JR still hiding some moves? What about our scoring draught last season, how has THIS been addressed?

:D :D :D

I think we're done...unless we trade Ward for salary reasons, in which we'd prolly only get a draft pick anyway. Also, if there is any way we can rid ourselves of Irbe, we'll do it.

The scoring problem has been solved by the health of our top players. And Markov on the PP. Hopefully the competition from training camp will make our best scorers do more for the sake of keeping their job.

Has anyone picked up Hlavac yet? Is Brendl expected to make the line up?

Hlavac has not been picked up yet, and there is no guarantee any of our "Bubble players" have a roster spot, but personally I would expect him to make it

So if Hlavac makes the team, we offer him a contract, which means more money towards salaries? And we thought last year we were breaking the bank...

I don't think that is an issue. We cut him loose.....he won't be at our camp. We could sign him just like any other team but he is no longer affiliated with us (we didn't give him a qualifying offer) so he isn't vying for a spot like the others. If we did sign him it would be for a much smaller contract that he was orginally under, I am sure.

Am I right here guys?

Yes.

Since when we didn't give him a qualifying offer, he became an unrestricted free agent, with no team affiliation. We could sign him, like any other team could, but we won't.
I haven't heard where he might go...speculation earlier said the Rangers again, but who knows...

You had it right, SHC!

Triple HHH () I think Moonie was referring to Brendl about being on the bubble/making the team.

I guess that would mean my hubby *really* hates hockey! :D

So Brendl has a contract, but if he doesn't make the cut he'll go to Lowell?
