Error

The site is super slow for me and sometimes I see the following error instead of the LGC hosting banner:

Ditto from me on both of the above.

I'm also seeing a big delay in posts. For example, I posted in the Practice Thread at 1:10 pm and after I posted that I did a "view new posts" and nothing showed up. Shell posted the above at 1:08 pm, but her post didn't show up as a new post on my view until just a few minutes ago.

Yeah the server was getting SLAMMED during that time. It got taken care of pretty quickly though.

I'm not seeing the error messages in the banner anymore, but performance is still slow for me, even this morning, FWIW. Not consistent, but off and on and sometimes really slow, and it seems to be more related to this site than my internet connection because I'm okay elsewhere.

Okay, I'm going to officially look into getting a dedicated server for LGC. It will be expensive. Would anyone object to possibly paying a few bucks a month to help out? Less than 5 dollars. Maybe just 1 or 2...

I'll never make that mandatory or anything but just wondering so I can gauge what kind of service and costs are going to be feasible.

I've had it with the constant issues.

Just sent you a PM. Also, FWIW, now is the first time I've even been able to get on the site today. Lots of internal server errors and still intermittent problems launching pages.

Would be more likely to do an "annual subscription" kind of thing than a monthly thing just for simplicity. In fact, I hadn't put anything in the hat yet, so I just did that through the paypal link.

I have a couple of virtual Xen servers that run my website (oldos.org). As long as the traffic you get here isn't amazingly unexpected, I'm more than willing to give you some space on my server to host this. Just lemme know and I'll get you an SSH account on it to check it out.
