I watched the Finland vs. USA matchup last night after getting home from the RBC. It really wasn't fair for Finland, having their best players preocupied with this little Stanley Cup Playoff thing.

Just wanted to mention this because of the Finnish high we're on. Also to say GO USA!!!

BTW if we had one more forward from Finland and put them all on the same line, they could be the "Finnish Line", surely some of us southerners have some checkered flags hangin around.

Damn!

USA just lost to Russia...

Gave up the winner with less than 2 minutes to go.

Oh well, we can still win the bronze.

both semifinals are being broadcast on 17.2 this afternoon. USA Russia now, Canada Sweden later.

Man, it kind of sucks that it isn't live, and that I know who won the game, but USA-Russia has been AMAZING. Jason Blake and Esche in particular for USA are playing their butts off. And as I mentioned over in the Ex-Canes thread -- Tverdovsky is playing for Russia, and that's fun to watch.

Helminen is of Finnish descent; I don't really see him on the big club next year, and Samsonov-Jokinen-Ruutu is a nice line right now so I say just go with it. ;]
