I play NHL 2k3. One of my few complaints is that I can't create myself and put me in the franchise mode. I play as the Canes of course and my lines look like this:
Offense:
1. I. Kovalchuk-Brindy-Kappanen
2. Cole-J. Thornton-O'Neil
3. Battaglia-K. Adams-Domi
4. Svoboda-Vasicek-Boulerice
Defense:
1. R. Klesler-J. Fishcer
2. Z. Chara-J. Slegr
3. Tannabe- Hill
Goalie:
1. Irbe
2. Raycroft
I am 9 games into the first season of a new franchise. I'm contemplaing switching up Brindy and Thornton, and Adams and Vasicek. Also Kappanen and O'Neil. Right now O'neils injured and I have domi on the 2nd line, Boulerice on the 3rd and C. Macdonald on the 4th.

I stopped playing EA 2003 after 6 straight stanely cups and an undefeated season. we usually outscored opponets by 20 goals.
I love being able to create yourself in the game...thats the funnest thing. Im realistic too...Im not the fastest guy in the world, so speed should be a 95. and strength? Im no incredible hulk, so make it a 93. Now shot power? Im no Al Macinnis, but I got a good shot so 95. :spin:

I'm on NHL2k3...the 'Canes have won three straight Stanley Cups, and three out of the past four President's trophys given, but are now losing a tight series to the Rangers in the first round of the playoffs...
My roster is as follows.
Tkachuk-Brind'Amour(C)-O'Neill(A)
R. Nash-Lecavalier-Cole
S. Hartnell-F. Federov-Heerema
S. Kariya-Marc. Hossa-C. Kobasew
R. Klesla-Me ( A :spin: )
M. Tarasov (NHL2k3 Generated)-O. Vaananen
St. Jaques-J. Laurensten (NHL2k3 Generated)
Weekes
Legace
DiPietro (Maturing in the minors...but has a great potential value. Could be the starter next year...)
See what a little crafty trading will get you? Some of the player ratings are out of whack....like Klesla and Kariya...but it works.
I'm going to try to trade some wingers for Bouwmeester when the playoffs end...that'll really be a great blueline...:)

On NHL2k3, I did a single season, and won the Stanley Cup after losing only 9 times in the regular season.
In franchise mode, I have played almost2 seasons, and I'm not doing as well, for some reason. I must have it on really hard mode or something... The first year I went 30-45-4-2 (bleh), and missed the playoffs completely. This season I haven't been playing as much, but I'm 20-17-2-0, which is better!
I've got, right now a pretty weird team: (some are not in their real positions)
O'neill - Francis - Zholtok
Cole - Brind'amour - Sakic
C. Adams - K. Adams - Kapanen
Daniels - Vasicek - Hlavac
Hill - Wesley
Ward - C. White
Wallin - Malik
Potvin
Weekes
Interestingly enough, Zholtok leads the team in scoring with 30 goals in 39 games, with 21 assists. (51 points in 39 games)

is that on the difficult mode?? if so well done. I am 52-0 with the Canes in season one (yes, on the hardest mode, the other team is handicapped 2 buttons in both skating and goalies) barely beat the Caps last night. I average winning by 10 goals.
Current lineup (the sharks game is next...feb 5)
oneil francis kapanen ( Kapanen has 86 goals in 52 games)
BBC
Druken Vasicek Daniels
Westlund Adams Adams
Hill Wesley
Hedican Ward
Tanabe Wallin
Hlavac is out 5-6 weeks with shoulder and Svoboda is out indef with ab strain.
i play this game WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAy too much

yup...difficult, fighting off, penalties low....me and my brother team up and always know what the other is doing or is gonna do. Our created characters both topped 200 goals and 500 pts for the year

holy shizzle! sounds like youd kick my ass. regardless, I usually keep the fighting ON for Eastern conference opponents, especially the SE div, devils and leafs. I'm creating a character next season, which ill hopefully complete before the new edition comes out.

yeah, were not too fun to play against....reminds me of the glory days of "Goldeneye 007" for N64....man, we would have people quit in the middle of a game because its no fun playing against us
we dont cheat or anything, but we show no mercy...well, actually we showed a little mercy by turning injuries off because teams were left in shambles after playing us :spin:

Yeah I don't like injuries. I have them turned way down so usually there are only infrequent minor injuries that at the most last a week or 2.
I also traded Cole for Todd Bertuzzi. Mainly because its so close to the 04 versions to come out that Cole will not have the time to develop into the 90-91 overall rating player that he develops to in this game.

On a humorous note, David Tanabe led my team and the NHL in hits in one of my seasons.
