I just had my monthly conversation with TWC to tell them I DO NOT subscribe to the MLB package. Remember that little snafu with Center Ice being cut off too soon. Well this is a lovely remnant of that!

At any rate, after being assured yet again that this would be taken care of immediately, I asked about subscribing to Center Ice this year. He said that you can start subscribing on Monday 8/25. At least a little good news from my dealings with them ;)

As many of you know, I live in the Charter Cable territory. Last year I tried to get Center Ice and was told it was not available in my area. Well, last night I had to call Charter (stupid internet access was down....AGAIN!) so I thought I'd just ask about it again to see if maybe it had become available. Well, after several minutes of assuring the moron I was talking to that it was NOT a pay-per-view event that I could order with my remote and that I did NOT say NFL but NHL she went to talk to her supervisor....who assured her is was a PPV event I could order with my remote. So, after about 10 more minutes of me arguing and them saying "hold on a minute and let me do some more research on this issue" I just gave up. I really think it is just the local offices that are full of morons and I'm gonna try to go online and order from there and see what happens. Wish me luck!

Believe me. You are lucky to have TWC. If it weren't for my internet access being so much cheaper with a TV package I'd have dumped this lame-a** company and gone with DirectTV a long time ago.

Charter Cable horror stories always remind me of a friend of mine who used to live in your area SHC. She called them about high speed internet access, they made an appointment and she took time off to be there and when they came, they looked at her and said "you can't get that service in this area". It's a wonder he got out alive!

Hope you can get it ordered online. I do think the local office of Charter is completely clue free about what's going on! Good luck!

Charlotte has Time warner....but many of the outlying areas (Like Hickory/Catabwa county) have charter...

...so you should be fine! :spin:

Has anyone who ordered Center Ice from Time Warner get their free pair of Canes tickets yet?

I didn't know you were supposed to get tickets?

But no, I haven't gotten anything.

What concerns me is that today is opening day and I don't see any games listed on the Center Ice channels - anyone know if/what they are showing tonight?

Hmmm.

Does ESPN own the rights to ALL three games tonight, thus none of the games will be covered by the local broadcasters?

Don't forget the free preview Oct 8- 14 on channels 731-740.

Oh and the free ticket promotion was for the first 250 subscribers.

That would suck...

So if ESPN owns rights to games then Center Ice can't show them, even if ESPN isn't showing them nationwide?

And what is the point of a free preview starting today if they aren't showing any games tonight?

Dish Network schedule can be found on http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/programming/ppv/sports_events/hockey/index.shtml

Looks like TWC is the only Center Ice package that lists any games for tonight; Dish Network and DirecTV list games starting tomorrow.

I noticed this last night while checking out the DirecTV guide because I, um, was a day ahead of myself and thought it was Wednesday. ESPN on 206 has hockey listed, but 210 is ESNa (alternate) and has Devils @ Bruins, while 211 is also ESNa with Wild @ Blackhawks. I don't know if I'll be able to see all 3, but I will of course check. :)

You should be able to. Dish Network does the same thing. If ESPN is covering more than one game, they'll show the others on the alternate sports channels.

BTW, it looks like we're getting the Ducks/Stars game!!! A guy at work pulled up a color-coded map of the US from ESPN's website. It showed what states would get which games. The range for the Devils/Bruins game stopped and Virginia, but for some reason included Florida.

(The link is "ESPN Games" on the main site)

GO DUCKS! :D
