New black Canes Jersey, women's jersey, and more available

At the commercial taping today, they gave some people new jersey's to wear. There is a Black jersey. It is not the Center Ice practice jersey, it is like one of the normal red or white ones escept is is black, and it has the string at the top. I think that it is made by CCM. The material looks slightly different, but I may be wrong.

There is also some new women's style jerseys. They fit a little bit snugger, and have a smaller "v" in the neck.

You can also get a new "muscle shirt" type jersey. It kind of looks like a basketball jersey with bigger shoulders. It also has teh tie sting at the top.

There may be more, but those are the three that they gave out tonight for people to wear for the commercials. All jersey's are available at The Eye now.

I have a feeling that the black ones will go quick once people see them!

I always thought a black 3rd jersey that pretty much looked like the normal red and white jerseys would look pretty slick, maybe even better than the red jerseys.

Black would definitely be the way to go for a third jersey...speaking of that, I wonder if this is a sign that the Canes are considering having a third jersey soon?

Thank you for your interest in the Carolina Hurricanes. Although we
appreciate your enthusiasm, we are not in a position to accept outside input with respect to a potential third party due to advice from our legal counsel. In addition, we currently have no plans to produce a third jersey as we want to build the tradition of our current jerseys.

Well, judging by that correspandence from Mr. Lehner on July 9th, I'd say they weren't, but I guess they have the right to change their minds :mad: .

I didn't take this to mean that there would be a third jersey for the players, does it? And it sounds like it's identical with the exception of the main fabric - black instead of white or red.

It just sounds like something to sell at the Eye along with the umpteen million other things with the Hurricanes logo.

My curiosity is heightened, might have to go check it out. :beatup:
