I've updated this over the last couple of years on another board but I thought maybe some people here don't go over there and would enjoy seeing this.

Thanks for posting. I like this year's tix. Really interesting to go back down memory lane. Crazily, my husband keeps every single ticket for every game, and catalogs them those acid free boxes. I did smile at the ECF 02 ticket, We had a man come up to us from Toronto, who offered by our tickets from the 02 ECF's because he just had a ticketmaster ticket and wanted a keepsake. He offered hub $100 bucks for it and got a polite decline.
Ya'll, I had to laugh HARD at the "This is HOCKEY" tickets. That year was so insanely miserable, and that friggin slogan was EVERYWHERE. I remember, at the time, my drive to work was on the beltline to N. Raleigh and I had to pass that billboard the Canes maintained- and there it would be. I remember one time after a particularly horrid loss, I flipped the billboard off. ;)
Ahhh memories.

That was the last year I was a full STH. Got laid off and couldn't afford it anymore.

Emphasis was on the wrong word and should be read as a question, not a statement... when referring to that season, it should have been "THIS is hockey??"

Man that season was ruff.. my first year as a STH.
I wish they'd do something that looked neat for 12 game holders :(
Either way, I got mine today -- the magnets are SUPERNICE. I love them :-D. I'll be the only guy in Virginia with a 'Canes STH magnet :p

so since no one said anything I can assume that there were no players at your house delivering your tickets? I got the fedEx man as well.
Well there is this guy in LLS who sits in the front row. Found out friday night that Brind'amour delivered his tickets to him personally.
hhmmmm
now this will be my 11th year as a full season ticket holder and I sit around (and know some on here) that have been STH's since day one. So wtf? Why can't they randomly pick STH's and do that? or did they and we just haven't heard?

From what was posted (somewhere here) last week, it was the Founding Partners that got the hand delivery. I'm not sure if it was every founding partner or not, but that was what was reported.
Given the small percentage of people that they can reasonably do this for, and the fact that it's the very first time they have...I'm impressed.
ButtersSaysNo
09-21-2009, 02:41 PM
Unfortunately the Canes do not recognize all Founding Partners that currently have season tix. They only recognize those that have had them for every season without any gap.

Tim Gleason personally delivered my season tickets to my house.
This is our 5th year being season ticket holders - and our seats are located in the End Zone, third level.
I was so excited. It really made my week. My wife said I was acting like a 14 year old anticipating the ticket delivery. Of course, we took pictures and I forwarded to friends in Minnesota who follow the Wild. They now think I'm "in" with the Canes.

Congrats! Though I'm having to stamp down the jealous to say that.

Congrats caterett, although I'll have to stomp with SHC in jealousy as well, especially since Tim Gleason came to your house! :bye:
I'm bummed on the one hand, since we've had Full ST's since 2001, and mini's before that, but also glad that it was more random than was originally reported and not just the FP's.
I had to LOL at caterett's friends in MN comments about being "in with the Canes". We get that alot with our friends in CA who follow the Ducks & Kings, and with our family in PA- they wail "You guys have wayyyyyy too much access to the team and it's always free". I do believe we have outstanding access as a fan base, so I won't complain about much of anything- our friends in CA were so surprised that we were going to the Caniac Carnival "again" this year - they thought it was some kind of "one time promo", lol.

Karen Prince called me around the time everyone was getting their Season Tickets delivered. She asked if I could be home next Thursday for a surprise. I told her "no problem" my wife can sign for the tickets. She said "no, you have to be there - we have a surprise." So, I kind of figured out what the surprise could be, but I didn't know for sure. I love Stormy, but would have been really disappointed if the pig showed up with my tickets

Carterret, that is SO awesome for you! The folks that sat in front of us last year moved over a section and their company bought about a row of season tickets and had been an 11 year STH. Ruuty delivered their tickets ! How happy were they?! I think its great that the organization did this. Besides, the Penguins did it last year and look how well it turned out for their team! ;-)

Maybe so, but to me, the gesture shows their just trying to appreciate fans -- not get good PR -- since they aren't publicizing it.
A real "awww" moment.
Chad LaRose was the ticket delivery person in one of my co-workers' neighborhoods. Supposedly the daughter of the STH was not at home so Chad jumped in the car and they went to meet her at the orthodontist's office.

The little girl was so cute. She just ran right into his arms and then that little wave she did was adorable. Chad is going to be a legend in these parts for years to come.
It was also so cool to see Chad in the dad's car as a passenger, just driving to the orthodontists office. :-

OT question (did not want to start a new thread) but is anyone else on the bank or cc draft program for their tickets & have not been dinged yet for this month's payment? Kind of odd since normally the Canes ding me by the 20th anyway. And it's almost the end of the month already (not that I am complaining--just wondering is something was up with my draft).
Thanks
PS I am glad they did not show up at my house for this last week cause it was\is a mess-lol

FYI... Spoke with Brooke Baragona (wonder rep for the Canes in my eyes), and she said that they just recently decided what was going to be in the catalog and we should have more info soon. She promised to follow up early next week with less vague info. Brooke is a superstar...

It's still lame though that they can't seem to come up with a new slogan each year.

I'm pretty sure they used "You'll know when you go" for a couple of seasons too. I really disliked that one.
The only ones I recall getting the one-and-done treatment was "Here to Play - Here to Stay" (05-06) and "Be a Champion" (06-07).
