Friday. I just happened upon this when looking up Patrick Swayze. At age 60 of a freaking heart attack. How bad does that f*cking suck.:(

Most recognizable is that "The Basketball Diaries" with Leonardo DiCaprio is based on his youth.

I wouldn't have known if there hadn't been a "Basketball Diaries" reference and I only knew that because post-"Titanic," I watched just about everything DiCaprio did.

If you haven't seen "BD," it was semi-famous for having a fantasy school-shooting scene that the Columbine kids -- specifically an image that may have inspired the (possibly never existed or graduated pre-shooting) Trench Coast Mafia. When school violence started to become such a nationally covered issue, the scene was often pointed to in the media as being fodder for such kids.
