Here is my take on the issue:
So What Are the Big Costs that need to be trimmed ?
Player's salaries.
Sheer greed. The fan's are doing their part, but the players are not doing theirs.
NO ONE is worth $1 million to $6 million more a year.
And I will forever more be sore about our team lighting a bonfire to more than $5 million of our money over the situation with Irbe. Grown mature people should be able to talk and work out issues and become stronger and better for it.
It is just totally financially and ethically irresponsible.
Yes, both Canes Management and Irbe are at fault here.
It makes you wonder if Canes Management really does sit back and laugh at us fans coughing up more than a $1000 of our hard earned money that needs to be prioritized for children's education and our own retirements in a difficult economy and gleefully hand it over to them be thrown on the bonfire.
The majority of the people in the triangle feel that Canes management is pretty much not in touch with the fan base.
It's a luxury that is above the means of the majority of our community.
I think Jim Goodman and James Goodnight are both savy business leaders and they would not fall for the mistake of picking up ownership of the Carolina Hurricanes unless they were 100% confident they could make it work. Unfortunately, a big issue is
