Well, guess we'll see how lucky the teams are with their flights into RDU tonight, just wet here in Apex, hope it's not getting icy.

Actually, it is the square in a hall of mirrors in which each step makes infinite progress to nowhere...

The team didn't skate this morning. Tim Gleason, Nic Wallin, and Manny Legace practiced over at the RecZone with Tom Barrasso, so I assume they're out of the lineup tonight (well, Legace backing up Cam anyway). I mainly stopped by to check in on Timmay to see how he's doing. He looks good, he wasn't wearing a shield today and his face looks remarkably healed already (I posted a couple of photos of him at the end of my December practices album (http://www.flickr.com/photos/jbk-ltd/sets/72157622799737679/)). I didn't stay long but I know they were at least on the ice a good 30 minutes while I was there.

The Panthers bus was arriving when I arrived, and I heard a couple of people mention they saw Cory Stillman milling about, but I didn't see him myself.

Maybe they shouldn't mention SISU pre-game...

Leave it to Tripp to suck all the mojo out of a perfectly good word like SISU.

And I forgot to mention earlier that we'll be back in black tonight, so at least we'll loo.....

Oh nevermind

...k like we're in mourning for the season that never was?

Yeah, and he kept saying SISU. I was like enough already Tripp.

Kinda reminded me of when a kid learns a cuss word and keeps repeating it.

LTD, thanks for the Timmy pics. He looks almost unscathed. Even the black eye is gone, which seems kinda miraculous considering I just saw him on Thursday and he looked dinged.

Back in Black, and it's Joni Poster Night. I'm trying to find things to look forward to ya'll......

You know Tripp was just trying to win cool points with the Finns!

Ah go ahead. Other fans will just think it is nice that someone took a bunch of folks with Terrets Syndrome to a hockey game for the Holidays.

"Sh*t, mother f*^k, Staal, e&t s*%t, lazy, f8rt sme&#er, da*n it!!"

On the other hand, people will wonder what a Buffalo fan is doing at a Canes/Panthers game.

Seriously, enough with the SISU from Tripp... another 5 min ramble about it just transpired.

Captain Slack
12-19-2009, 10:23 PM
Tripp also mentioned how great the Red Wings were doing, what with having eight guys on IR & winning five games in a row.

Detroit lost 4-3 to Dallas tonight, snapping their FOUR GAME winning streak.

LOL @ E-- sh*ta**.

Ok, where the heck is everyone? We won a game. While I had hope for a win last night and we move here and win tonight, It's sunk in that we're just not going to be anything but a last place, or close to it team.

Where was this team last night in FL?

I thought Cam was good tonight, that fluke goal to make it 3-1 and then the 5 on 3 goal (what was that call on Yelle? bs I say).

I like Pat Dwyer's game. I thought the apparently worthless future captain played a really good game. No points, but he played well. TommyK has been one of my faves since he played for the Kings. He's starting to get into Gleason status with me. :-

When Forslund started talking about Cullen if he keeps playing like this, being a "valuable commodity for a contender" I started to miss him immediately. Cullen, I've always appreciated for his understated manner, but love him to death because he's got that dynamic skating stride. He's electrifying when he comes up the ice and I just love to watch him. I can't even think about him not being on the team. I shouldn't even say it with SHC in the room. ;)

It's a win. I'm looking for that for the next 3 games in this homestand. I'm happy.

It's baby steps.

Apparently Tripp was having quite a nite according to the texts I received, heehee. Someone needs to stop him with the Sisu stuff. It's like he's trying so hard to be hip.

Well, that was a win. Which is nice, since none of it matters at all anymore. But man, I know we ended up with 3 SOG in the third....I'm not sure we had any for the back half of the second. It was 21-14 Canes at some point...I thought fairly early...in the second and we finished 24-30. That's some pathetic Mo hockey right there. We're lucky they only managed to score the BS stantion goal and the 5 on 3.

Cam was awesome, Dwyer sure looked good, and I am SO going to hate to see Cullen go. :( We better get more than a freaking third round pick for him, too.

Oh, and nice of the refs to finally show up halfway through the third.

LOL, I was typing about it the same time you were.

I'm hoping he'll go somewhere where I can still cheer for him....Chicago, Colorado, Boston....someplace I kinda like. And then in my fantasy world, we re-sign him.:(

We'll probably send him to Buffalo. :end:

We won :nanner:

I'm glad that crazy bounce off the boards didn't cost us. I thought Cam had a great game, we lose if it wasn't for him. And I thought Staal had a good game as well. Thought his defense game was back, something that lacked last night. I'm starting to see what Tripp/John always say about Dwyer and how he is a professional. Starting to really like that guy.

Joni was sneaky mean tonight  and he got under someone's skin, can't remember who it was #9 maybe.

Glad to see the refs continue their consistancy. Put the whistles away for the first 40 minutes, then call every little touch the last 20 minutes.

Oh and Christmas came early for me. Second intermission, the boyfriend hands me a black Pitkanen jersey :)

I really think we'll have to have a day of mourning thing for SHC when we do have to trade Cullen. and it sure as heck better be a roster player (Cam Barker or Kris Versteeg are still high on my list, k, thx. )

I know we ended up with 3 SOG in the third....I'm not sure we had any for the back half of the second. It was 21-14 Canes at some point...I thought fairly early...in the second and we finished 24-30. That's some pathetic Mo hockey right there.I'm personally sick to death of hang on tight and pray that we win hockey. Sick to death of it. we had people in front of us who were saying "is it always this stressful? we don't don't remember coming to games like and things being like this". Hub said, when was the last time you were here? the girlfriend/wife said "after they won the Cup":lol: They were talking about the "identity" of the team being that of the Coach. Oh, you mean boring and robotic? Someone help....

KF, you're right. My Ditz was very sneaky mean. He had Stephen Weiss in a tizzy and they showed Joni and he was still running his mouth. I said to hubby, I wonder what that Ditz is saying down there; Weiss was a little unglued, lol. & thumbs up on the #25 jersey! Woohoo.....

Yeah-- the win wasn't the prettiest... but I'll take it! Cam really kept us in the game, and the other Ward was a +2, which I'm happy to see. :)

The "save-of-the-game" to me, wasn't by Cam, though. I think it was in the 3rd-- he came out and got a little stuck getting back and Scotty was right in the crease and totally knocked-away a shot that would have gone-in, if he wasn't so aggressively playing "goalie" at that moment.

From about 11AM through the afternoon, I had a terrible migraine, with horrid nausea, and I was only about 75% feeling better at the arena... so, I'm just happy to have been entertained and gotten to Wooo 3X... and I didn't have to jump up to vomit!

Pat Dwyer is playing a bit like last last year's Chad LaRose. If we get this year's Chad playing like last year's Chad the season might not loom so long.

Completely off-topic but Muse is the musical guest on Saturday Night Live tonight. Took me right back to October 3rd. :D

Had a good time at the game tonight. Patrick Dwyer's drawing a lot of comparisons to Chad LaRose, isn't he? Not playing like a guy who wants to make the trip back to Albany any time soon.

I'm not going anywhere near the pimp coat discussion.

Both Wards had very good games. I was especially impressed by Aaron's on-the-ice-behind-the-head sweep check.

Maniscalco claimed that Clemmensen had a bad game, but I thought he had a bunch of good saves, especially early. The first goal might've been a rebound issue, but the Cullen goal was that sneaky mini-shoulder fake and Samsonov goal was coverage.

Nice to see Joni draw a penalty just by skating around the boards.

I would like to tell Tripp that SISU has "jumped the shark". I will no longer bring the sign to any games and will keep my SISU thoughts to myself.

Oh and WTF was canesvision doing honoring Scott Stevens. Sorry but that was just in bad taste IMHO. I don't care if he is in the HHOF, he ruined Shane Willis' career, your own player. And he also knocked out your now associate coach. I'm sure there was someone else they could have done their little montage on.

Mr Socal and I both looked at each other and said WTF? I was dumbfounded. We have absolutely no connection to Stevens, and the "connection" we do have, is extremely negative. Seriously, how many dudes are in the HHOF? We've done these video tributes to other guys, who have nothing to do with our org, but are considered greats and rightfully so. Surely to gosh, we could have honored someone that when you hear his name you wanna scream obscenities.

I was watching the second game on HNIC and missed MUSE and didn't TiVo. Son of a gun.

We Tivo'd the game and watched it this AM. On closer review, while we havd some ugh moments, the game wasn't as saggy as I thought it was. I enjoyed seeing the Target shopping trip and the appearance of Chad in the post game interview with Cullen.

I had fun rewinding the Tivo like 3 or 4 times to watch Cullen's shorty. That little shoulder shake/fake was just as pretty on TV as it was in the bldg. That, and seeing #12 rough up his ex-teammate Seidenberg with some nasty hits along the boards in the first.

Tripp will be between the benches on Monday. That should be interesting.

Aaron Ward had probably his best game of the season. I was impressed. As far as Maniscalco's opinion, he's an idiot.
