Per the tweets already mentioned in some of the other threads, the Canes practiced at Compuware Arena today, home of the Karmanos-owned Plymouth Whalers. Everyone on the trip skated including Cole, Rosey and Sergei, although per late-afternoon tweets they're not expected to be back in the lineup and the roster should look the same as it was for last night's game.

Mike Sundheim blogged (http://hurricanes.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=513484&navid=DL%7CCAR%7Chome) today about the trip to Compuware including the big homecoming for Chad LaRose, who spoke to the Whalers before practice. Sounds like quite the outing for both squads.

I hate Thursday games. My poor DVR can't take it! What show gets axed so I can watch the game in HD?

Oh, and this is for CHC. Prediction - Patty Eaves with the hat trick tonight.

It's one of those rare games between my old favorite team and my new favorite team.

You know, it's amazing, but while I used to love the Wings as much as my beloved Tigers, I now hate them as much as the dreaded Yankees.

I know what you mean. Although I don't hate the Wings, I came to that fork in the road in 2002, and never looked back. I used to love Mitch Albom too, until he showed his a#@ in the paper and on the radio with Adam Gold.

Jonathan Ericsson is back for the Wings. That's significant, cause I like him and happy I get to see him, even if its only on the TV

And we get Howard tonight.

I may have bought his more recent books but NEVER since that time. He showed his true colors. Can't stand the guy.

Really like that shift by the TKO/Sutter/Jussi line!

Of course Lindstrom will get out of his slump against us. But I agree with SHC, that was an awesome shift.

Well this is a depressing stat

Carolina has not won a regular-season game in Detroit since Nov. 14, 1989 (3-0), when the franchise was in Hartford. The Hartford/Carolina franchise is 0-12-1-1 (W-L-T-OTL) in its past 14 regular-season games at Joe Louis Arena.

So far this game proves Mo's #1 strategy (shoot the puck) useless. This is the first game we have out-shot our opponent since the last game we lost.

WTF is it that these fans in "hockeytown" can't sit their asses in their seats while the puck is in play?

I was so stunned by the save itself, I didn't even notice he'd lost his lid until the replay.

I've only caught a bit of the game -- baking a cake and making dinner -- but I've seen enough to wonder the same thing. I can't decide if I feel better or worse that Detroit fans apparently don't respect "puck in my play" any better than fans here do.

Every one see Drew Miller tapping Cam's pads after that save without his helmet? Awesome.

I haven't been paying much attention to this game. Taking our yearly trip to Orlando next month so i'm sitting here making our plans. All I have to say is thankS god for replays, cause that save from Cam when he lost the mask, UnFreakenbelievable.

And amazing what TKO can do with ice time. Maybe Mo should have listened to Forslund on day 1

Way to pass the puck to Bertuzzi, Wallin.

And I wish to god Tripp would STFU about the reverse now.

This team should buy Cam a new Bentley.

Seriously. I'm feeling bad for the guy way too often this year. He deserves so many more notches in the win column then what he's gotten.

Cam makes a save without a mask, what a moment.

Now, it was Wallin's craptastic latter half of the third which really cost the game, but the call which led to the 2nd power play goal for Detroit... sorry ref, when you take a guy out, it's not exactly fair to call it as if a player pulled the guy down.

SoCalcaniac

The Wallin thing- GAG. It was like a disease of incompetence with our D tonight.

Cam needs to be on every replay there is with that save.

Someone just needs to put a sock in Tripp's mouth - that yammering about the reverse was just bull crap. He was so off tonight, and I know how both he and Forslund are so hesitant to ever say anything critical about Aaron Ward or he just wants to continue to try and pump his tires and get him some confidence but really he makes sh**** plays and there's Tripp going on about how he "got back" or he did some made up sh** that never happened. It's irritating.

It was probably alot to ask to make it four in a row. I continue to enjoy the Rat Pack and their tenacity; and there were plenty of us wondering WTF TommyK wasn't playing more minutes when the season started. Glad the brain trust has figured it out.

Well atleast the guys at NHL.com didn't see it... they have "Detroit stings Jackets, 3-1." And Nick of time, ... 3-1 win over Blue Jackets."

I was thinking the same thing! Then Tripp goes and says it was the right call. The ref was there WAY before either player and NEVER got out of the way. I wish they could call interference on the Refs.

And yes, Cam's save was amazing. They just talked about it with Ray on NHL Live.

Cam's save without his mask made 'Pardon the Interruption' on ESPN this evening. Michael Wilbon described it as "GumpWorsleyan".

ETA LOL the Canes just tweeted it.
