After Carcillo showed how big of a man he is by fighting Gaborik last night he may be out for more blood in this one. Whitney and Samsonov should be prepared! ;)

I think I heard on last night's broadcast that the team is going to practice on Penn's campus today. That ought to be fun. Hope they get a chance to do some fun bonding stuff today, they could probably use it with all the events of the week.

And for some reason I keep forgetting and then it hits me that Lavi's behind the bench for the opposition. I missed the game at the RBCC the day after Christmas so this will be my first chance to see him against us.

This is it for us for the Flyers this season, correct?

I use to like the Flyers and their tough style but I can't stand Carcillo because hes an idiot. Hes a spot picker, fights who he thinks he can beat, and never mans it up to anyone bigger or better than him. Him and Gleason have fought twice so if he gets out of hand I wouldn't be surprised to see them go again.

The Class of '23 Rink on Penn's campus makes the Cary Ice House look like the RBC Center. What a dump! My daughter played there 4 years ago. Bad ice, cramped locker rooms, ugh.

After watching the Mavs shoot-around this morning at the Wachovia Center, they're dressing there then being bussed over to Penn (Per Chip). Sounds like they're in for an old school kind of day.

Manny in goal tomorrow, Cam on Sunday to (hopefully) break the wins record. Will be nice if it happens at home for him. :)

Oh, and supposedly one of the 76ers asked Staal if he was a fighter, to which he replied that no, he was not. :lol: He'd make a good guard in the NBA, though.

http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/Eastern/Southeast/Hurricanes.html is giving us a 81.1% chance of making the playoff with 89 points so 24-5-4 would be fine (or 25-6-2). 8 more losses and we'd be mathmatically eliminated from the playoffs (again assuming 88 or 89 is in).

Flyers / Canes games are usually a little scrappy, should be a high energy good physical game. Legace gets the start which I like but don't expect great things. Legace seems to be the kind of goalie that needs some consecutive starts before he gets in the zone, will be interesting to see how he looks early with over a month off.

I just turned on FSN a few minutes early, and of course they're showing the last few minutes of "In My Own Words" with The Captain Emeritus. I guess I'll quit getting all teary over this eventually.

And I was reading some pre-game notes written from a Flyers perspective and they're mentioning how this may be the last time they see their beloved former player on their ice.

Flyers look pretty good and fast, you can see Laviolette is finally getting his style of play going. Staal still looks to have some extra pep in his step and theres a goal.

nice play by tlusty to sutter, too early to judge the trade but as far as getting a player that can immediately have an impact tlusty has been pretty good.

It's terrible that the Canes WERE in control of that period-2 SOG for 15 minutes, and then a bad penalty, a horrid turnover and we're down 3-1.

I know ya'll heard me screaming from Apex when AWard decided to clip/tackle and take the dumbest penalty (since the last one he took last game) and then go yapping to the box like he always does. It would be "funny" maybe "cute" if he didn't do it every damn game, but it's now infuriating. Just stop Aaron. Go away- or someone yes, please, RELEASE him. I don't care if we have to pay him, do what MTL did with Laraque. Just go dude, you make my eyes bleed.

So on to a positive thing......I agree on the #36/12 thing- They really do look good together.

I feel terrible for Manny- his eye looks awful, and yeah, washing hands and steering clear--pink eye scares me and I don't scare all that easily.

Jeff Carter appears to me like he hates playing hockey. It's an odd comment to make I know, but he always has this look; and then when they were playing in the winter classic, and they interviewed him, he just seemed indifferent to it all almost like "whatever" in his tone; and yet, he scores a goal. Grrrrr.

I liked those comments from Karmanos Jr on Zac Dalpe. Adds to the hope theme we have going on with our young guys.
