yeah, this may be solveable by having a captcha-esque field in the registration... i.e. "what is captain eric staal's last name"... that should be suffiecient to fool any bots. i'll get cracking on that, shell.

Is there away to only allow PMs for members who have posted? Or maybe for an approved group? Or go back to manual registration approval? (I know all of these ideas will probably require more time from the mods but I figured I'd through them out there)

if i could limit it, i'd basically make it a VIP group privledge (until this can be resolved)... which, basically all you have to do is ask to get in, which is authentication enough for me. but, alas, i cant. we'll work on it.

BTW Captain - Admins don't go into PM boxes. I am not sure if it is even possible to do that.

I figured out how to disable PMing altogether for those that have registered but not been verified.

Most of those are bot spiders. Google has about 5-6 going at any given moment crawling over this board and indexing. There's several others that are fairly frequent as well.
