No details, but Bob says it's so.

Probably won't get details until the dust settles, I would imagine just a later round pick.

to whom is more of my concern.

meh, not concern, curiosity.

Has anyone seen anything else on this? Bob McK threw it out there, I guess details to follow after all the calls with the league?

Chip tweeted it too, so between those two sources you'd think it's legit, but I haven't seen any other details either.

Poor Yelle. Gets waived earlier, no takers. Gets traded and no one can report to where

Did Yelle win the Cup with Colorado?

Seriously????

Dumpin' the salary.

I don't think Reed was ever going to play serious minutes in the NHL.

Per the Canes on Twitter:

Stephane Yelle and Harrison Reed have been traded to Colorado for C Cedric Lalonde-McNicoll and a sixth-round pick, says Rutherford.

Yes he did

Sorry...I see Capt's post up there that indicates we did get a bit more than just a 6th round pick for 2 players.

Never heard of the guy coming back. Guess he'll be Daniels problem. Reed wasn't ever going to pan out.

Cedric had some solid numbers in the juniors and he's only 22 so i guess theirs some upside.

I'm gonna get myself a Lalonde-McNicholl Checkers jersey.

Let's see, that's 2 prospects, a 4th rounder and a 6th rounder for two guys that were on waivers a few weeks ago...

Nice. As a hyphenate myself, welcome to the team. Good luck back out west, Yelle.

Pretty sure Cedric Lalonde-McNicoll played for the Checkers earlier this year, he'll be going right back home.

You have to give Rutherford a pat on the back, he sent guys to teams who had a chance to do something and with Yelle, he went back to the team he had tons of success with, and they're also in the playoff mix. Plus Yelle maintains a home in COL where his family lives in the off-season.

I'm not too concerned on all the assets back- We did some things and the GM did what he needed to do for the budget.

I like the idea of having FOUR second round picks. Could come in handy on draft day as we try to move up the line.

JR said we have 3...the other is for 2011.

"6 of the top 65 picks in the upcoming draft" is what Adam Gold just rattled off. And JR called it a "deep" draft or similar.

I agree. He gave Walker the opportunity to get a cup for what could be his last chance. He didn't send Corvo back to Canada where he obviously isn't comfortable and kept him close to home (if the wife/kids remain here). Alberts is single, so him moving out West isn't that big of a deal for him and he gets a chance for a playoff push. Although it seems JR didn't do any favors to Ward

I've heard the same. However, the following year's draft is looking very thin...or so the expects say.

Thanks for always staying classy, Yelle!!

Decent return, IMO.

Looking at Lalonde-McNicholl's stats on hockeydb.com...besides his 3 games for Charlotte this year, he played juniors in Shawinigan last year. So our scouts probably caught wind of him while they were scouting Phillipe Paradis.
