2001-2002 and 2005-2006 entries caught my eye first. Ah, memories.

You know, I have to say that if these are the same people that engrave/supervise the engraving of the Cup, I'm not impressed.
The number of mistakes that are made are outrageous. There is something awry in the process or the Quality Control!
And I always have to remind myself that it's a quaint tradition of having the same family do the Cup engraving because doesn't the engraver for the Claret Jug (British Open) do it freehand and immediately following the win, before it's presented. The Cup uses little letters (like type set) and they can't even seem to keep them straight/aligned.
It seems like when you have all the time that these folks do, and and opportunity to have it checked by an infinite number of people, there should be no mistakes.
and PS - if anything remotely similar were to happen in a non-trad market, it would be held up as evidence (or further evidence) that we don't deserve a team, don't know hockey, etc. /roll

Well this is OBVIOUSLY further evidence that there is a league conspiracy for the Caps!!!

I just wanna know who in the NHL actually thought making women's jerseys with rhinestones, and sparkles and such on them was a great idea. :fire:
Visit nhl.com...the shop. Go to jerseys and check out the "Ice Flirt" jersey.
WTF???????????

I saw it yesterday when it was all over Twitter.
Completely insulting and just plain lame-O. Clearly they didn't put together a hockey "summit" on what a real female hockey fan would be inclined to purchase and WEAR.
Ice Flirt? AS IF. Is that a team? a player? NHL Merchandising? do you know your fanbase? uh- yeah. So unbelieveably embarassing.

I'd need to see one of the checkers cheerleaders wearing just the jersey before I could really make a valid judgement call, really. :(

I haven't looked at it, but I'm thinking it's got Linda Craft's name allllll over it.

Actually there is a lady in my section that sits in the mezzanine that has taken a hockey jersey and put rhinestones on all the decals/patches/etc. Doesn't look half bad but i would hate think the hours she invested to get that done.

I think she's been referred to as "Bedazzled Caniac" here before. :)

After much thought about the whole new Women's jersey issue I have finally realized........they do not want me (or someone like me) to buy this jersey, they are trying to reach a "different" women's market. So...hope it works for them but I'm thinking the women they are trying to reach are still going to be wearing something else (not jerseys) to games ;)

I don't care what excuse the league gives, there's no excuse for that happening and not being caught. On the bright side, if there's a curse for touching the POW trophy, what happens when your name gets ingraved on it by mistake?
On the women's jersey thing, women should come to the game topless anyway:evil:

She would be who I was referring to in my original post, unless God forbid, there is another person rollin' in the RBCC in that get up.

Mr. Socal has just shorted it to Bedazzled.

the one i am talking about has either a "crazy canes" headband or on the back of the jersey. was blonde until last season when she decided to go RED and not one of the colors found in nature.

the lady who has done the Cup for the past 25+ (probably closer to 30) has only made one mistake... Adam Deadmarch instead of Deadmarsh...
errr... went to go do a sanity check on the years shes done it and found that she messed up Manny "Lagace" in 02 and in 06.... Eric "Staaal" (both were fixed) anyone ever see that????
found a pic from dec with it fixed, any one have a pic from right when it was done, in sept?
eta: went to check hyena's site.. i remembered she had one fo the first pics of the engraving... looks ok to me, like it was done right the first time. not an obvious correction, if indeed it was.
