Dear Randy,
Please be on the lookout for your NHL All-Star Game Weekend ticket information to arrive via mail later this week. This packet will provide you with more details regarding this special event, and will include your All-Star ticket package order form.
Full Season Ticket Holders and 26-Game Plan Holders have the opportunity to purchase both the Skills Competition on Saturday, Jan. 29 and the All-Star Game on Sunday, January 30 through NHL All-Star Game Weekend ticket packages. We would like to emphasize that in order to guarantee your access to tickets and that your seats are assigned based on your account priority, your order form, along with payment in full, must be received by Thursday, September 30, 2010. With this in mind, we want to provide you with pricing details for these packages now, so that you may begin to make plans accordingly.
NHL All-Star Game Weekend Ticket Package Pricing
Lower Level/Club Level - $260 per seat
Upper Level - $200 per seat

12 pack split pricing is the same, though I am not guaranteed any event access due to priority and availability.

Please be on the lookout for your NHL All-Star Game Weekend ticket information to arrive via mail later this week. This packet will provide you with more details regarding this special event, and will include your All-Star ticket order form.
All-Star Game Weekend is controlled by the NHL, which will require thousands of tickets to fulfill their obligations. Because of these ticket inventory limitations, as a 12-Game Plan Holder, you currently have the opportunity to purchase tickets to one of the events of NHL All-Star Game Weekend based on availability and your account priority. You will have the opportunity to indicate whether you would prefer to purchase tickets to the Skills Competition on Saturday, Jan. 29 or the All-Star Game on Sunday, Jan. 30. You may also indicate whether you would like to purchase tickets to both events should the inventory be available to fulfill your request via the return of tickets from the NHL.
We would like to emphasize that in order to guarantee your access to tickets and that your seats are assigned based on your account priority, your order form, along with payment in full, must be received by Thursday, September 30, 2010. With this in mind, we want to provide you with pricing details for these events now, so that you may begin to make plans accordingly.
NHL All-Star Skills Competition- Saturday, Jan. 29
Lower Level/Club Level - $80 per seat
Upper Level - $65 per seat
NHL All-Star Game - Sunday, Jan. 30
Lower Level/Club Level - $180 per seat
Upper Level - $135 per seat

We got our email too (Full STH) and as we break this down, this is EXACTLY the same price we paid for our ASG tix & the Skills Competition. Exactly the same. So it's good to know 3 years later, we've not had any inflation situation.

For the 12 gamer forms, is there an option to request both events in the event that they have enough availability?
edit: NEVERMIND, I see that canesice included that with their post! Thanks!!!

you know, you get credit cards paid off and then have to use one again, damn it. I wasnt expecting to have to pay so soon. Oh well i'll set up my own payment plan

Yeah, for those of us that avoid credit cards, this sucks.
Seeing as I budgetted 800$ for the wife and me for the weekend this is a pleasant surprise. Tickets will be 400$ total and already paid for the hotel room Saturday nght. Also hate the Credit Card carousel.

suppose this was the perfect timing to get an unexpected work bouns. I wasn't expecting to need to pay for the tickets quite as early either.
Now here's the question...if I have my full STH tickets in the mezzanine, will I be ABLE to purchase lower level ASG tix? or just upper level?

Guess we'll have to wait for the form but I'm thinking they'll let you request either. There may be people who choose to save some $ and move "up", but for just a $60 difference for the whole weekend, it doesn't seem so likely.
I'm definitely going to request both events in the LL if possible.
I'm a little surprised there's been no mention or call for volunteers yet. Guess there's time for that.

We like the pricing.
Sort of torn though on what level to select. Thinking about taking a chance at getting lower or club, but also would be perfectly fine being in upper level if we were able to get our own seats. I will be annoyed if we decide upper level and get booted to some crappy seats.
What to do, what to do.

We got our package today the good news for Full and 26 game plan holders is that they indicate that theywill attempt to put you in your regular seats and the seating is in fact based on account priority. You can make requests to sit elsewhere they just can't guarantee anything.
We know we won't be sitting in our 119's since they'll likely give those to the league; but we hope we'll get to keep our 304's for the friends who will sit in them. I'd be fine if we get our old 121's. We'll see what Mr. Socal cooks up, as alternatives for the 119's.

Since i'm LLN, keeping fingers crossed the league won't want those and I can get my regular seats. But in reality, i'll take whatever as long as I'm there.
And I'll be buying the parking passes as well to save $10. For some reason $30 for both sounds better than $40

it is my understanding that the league is taking 3000 per each side of lower level center ice.

09-01-2010, 07:39 PM
That's what the league did in '07 in ATL- and it was easy to figure- everyone in the Center Ice section were wearing suits or "dressy clothing" not normally seen at a hockey game. They all stuck out like sore thumbs.
KF- I did get a little irked at that parking price tag. But then thought the same thing you did, lol.

Drum roll...... my envelope came today!! Wooo!!
And it was post-marked 8/31 -- 3 friggin' days to get here!! This is why I NEVER EVER mail anything down here. I always bring it with me to work, so that it gets mailed in Raleigh.
Once, I conducted a test: I mailed two separate notes to my Mom who lives by Lake Norman, North of Charlotte. One got mailed down here, and on the same day the other one got mailed from Raleigh. The one that left from Raleigh got there in 2 days, which is what is expected. The one mailed from my crappy little P.O. down here took a FULL WEEK to get to her.
We have our season tickets mailed to my office. I really should just have EVERYTHING mailed to my office!! LOL

You and me both. I met 2 other people at the RBC back on the 17th during lunch to turn our forms in together so we get tickets next to each other. The lady assured us we were all taken care of and she would turn them in.
Well as of today the credit card hasn't been hit. Guess I'll wait till Wednesday to see if I get an email confirmation since that seems to be the saying whenever someone calls asking.

I took it a step further and made the lady who took my form give me a "receipt" (the form they give you when you drop tickets off at will-call).
All that said/done, I still have the same horrid unease that KF had when she left the box office because :
A) the woman looked "confused" about the form being dropped off at the box office
B) She wanted no part of writing a receipt up, and I made her "because I don't trust anything that goes on over here"
C) Not one person who has been expecting an email, has received one, and with all of my precautions like walking the form to the box office and getting a receipt, I have no email confirmation and our check has not been cashed. One would think, they'd at least cash the thing, since it's $$ but it's probably lost.
This is scary because who even knows what is going to happen with everyone's forms.

Maybe you remember I tweeted it . ;) I'm typing directly from the pamphlet I picked up at the ASG Volunteer Table @ the RBC Center on the first preseason game:
You are invited to attend the NHL All star Volunteer Information & Registration meeting:
7PM Wednesday November 10, 2010
Space on the Roster is limited! To reserve a seat for this meeting and ensure your place as a potential NHL All Star Volunteer, Call our Hotline @ 919-861-7190
To be eligible as an All Star Volunteer, you must be available for one four hour shift for at least three days from Jan 26-30th 2011
The lady at the table was super enthusiastic, and was doing all she could to gather people to her table to hear her pitch. I figured someone I know could be interested so I toook the pamphlet.

I faxed mine in this morning. Karen Prince changed her voice mail greeting warning people that it may take longer for her to respond due to the ASG deadline.
I spoke to Tim in the ticket sales office to get the fax number and confirm that I could send my stuff in that way. Besides faxing, he said that as long as it's postmarked today, they're not penalizing and the forms can also be dropped off tomorrow at the game. If you're between a rock and a hard place, you might want to call a ticket rep to confirm, but there are options and it sounds like they're being pretty flexible.

There may be a better thread for this, but I just went back about 4 pages -- to April -- and I'm not seeing anything, so I'll plunk it here:

AT&T Raleigh Winterfest will conclude January 30, 2011, after the city hosts crowds for the NHL All-Star Game which will be played at the nearby RBC Center.

A little piece in today's N&O about the ASG has this info:
In addition to the hockey at the RBC Center, the NHL will host fan events at the Raleigh Convention Center Jan. 28-30, with a 150,000 square-foot interactive hockey theme park.

So lesson to me- never depend on hubby to check on FedEx packages.
As of this morning, as far as I knew, the FedEx package with my tickets STILL had not shown up even though the Canes office said it shipped on 9/20. At least 6-7 times over the last 2 weeks asked Hubby- "tickets come today?" "Nope."
Well, imagine my relief when I came home today to find the package sitting on the kitchen table!! Well, turns out the package had been delivered all along on 9/22- it was left inside our storm door to our front door that we never use. My brother in law found it today when he was here.
So tickets for the 10/1 game in Section 114 row J went unused.

I'm pissed. PISSED.
I paid for 26 game pack over 12 game pack so I could get ASG tickets. Half of those tickets will die on the vine because I live 4 hours away.

I feel for ya, Jay. We just couldn't risk the 26 pack so we had to take our chances. At this point, only 2 weeks after the deadline, part of me wonders at this point if they knew this all along, they knew making it a STH exclusive would up the odds of breaking STH records. Wonder how years' STH numbers compare to 06-07 after we won the Cxp?
BTW- yes, I'm x'ing out the cup again... new season. :D

Jay, real bummer on that and I thought of a few people we know who went to 26 because they wanted a guarantee.
As for the tickets going to waste. I highly recommend ticket exchange. Our friends who downgraded this year from full to 26 this year, sold over 20 games last year on ticket exchange and broke even or made money on some of the games. It's not too difficult to manage, especially if you know in advance which games you know for sure you won't be going to. At least your tickets won't go to waste and you'll recoup your cost.
Not the best option there- but might take the sting off.

I dunno. I was someone who simply couldn't afford to go up to 26 and I took the risk of being bumped by brand-new full-season STHs while staying with 12. It would have sucked if that had happened, but everyone had the option of risking it with 12 -- we were never told we WOULDN'T have tickets, just that we weren't guaranteed them. I'm glad my gamble paid off, but if I had chosen to go to 26 to guarantee it, well, that would have been my choice and I'd just be glad I had the guarantee and, presumably, better ASG seat(s).
I have no doubt it was some degree of marketing by the Canes to up the STH numbers -- it'd be a stupid business decision not to -- but the email reads to me like the NHL is running the ticketing for this game and the Canes might not have had as much knowledge (oh, sure, they had some knowledge) about how availability would turn out for the 12 gamers as they would have if they'd been in charge, with some of it depending on factors beyond the Canes control, like how how many/which seats the NHL would block off. I presume that the seats the NHL is most likely to take are those that are mostly taken by full and 26 STHs. When those people are shifted to seats usually "owned" by other full, 26 and 12 STHs, I imagine that it really shifts the numbers and the capacity.
I also imagine that the Canes told the 12 STHs "maybe" because they were working with some known and unknown figures for full and 26, figuring that everyone would say yes. Those numbers may have changed because they may not have had as many new STHs as they expected and also because, for any number of reasons (other scheduled events beyond the STHs control, money), some may have actually said no.

I will second this - ESPECIALLY for games with a high % of transplants. I know my seat mates probably hated me, but I put a Pens game and a Sabres game up on Ticket Exchange and they both sold. When I asked at the next game, they confirmed that they were Pens/Sabres fans that bought them.

We also have to remember that when they structured the plans, they had no idea how many people WOULD upgrade to the 26 games or would become new 26ers in order to guarantee both events. I'm sure the Canes would like nothing more than to have so many 26ers that they couldn't give the 12 gamers more than 1 event, but they couldn't have known how the market (and scalpers) would react. They also didn't know (until 9/30) how many plan holders would actually buy the tickets. We may be hardcore folks here, but it's still a lot of extra money. I am certain that the old group I used to share seats with, would have passed. But again - you don't know until the money comes in.
I felt pretty comfortable that if 12 gamers got a chance to snag both events that I'd be one (based on acct creation date), but I was fully prepared to just get 1 event w/o complaint. I know I asked SoCal more than once about which event I should ask for as my priority event, just in case.
Also - I know I mentioned (in some thread) that SoCal was able to get both events in ATL as a mini-plan holder. I suspected that it would end up this way, but the 12 gamers did roll the dice.

The email reads to me like the NHL is running the ticketing for this game and the Canes might not have had as much knowledge (oh, sure, they had some knowledge)
You've hit it perfectly; The ASG is completely a "league event" similar to the Winter Classic (you should see the drama involved in this Pens/Caps tilt never in this life would you imagine the hoops that are in play with the WC tix) when we went to the Atlanta ASG and signed up as mini-plan holders, hub had a chat with the guy who eventually became our ticket rep, and also with the manager of ticket sales; they shared ALOT of detail on what the league will do, what the process is, how they don't have a 'say' on who gets moved where, etc. We felt comfortable & confident that our little 12 game plan was going to be enough for us to get both, because frankly, ATL never did what the Canes did, ask us to choose one or the other. Which to me, spoke to the lack of STHers for ATL compared to us. I don't ever recall us worrying that we'd not get into the main event. So fast forward to this year, and in various discussions with the ticket people for our org, and they repeated many of the exact things that the ATL told us about the process. It's definitely not in the Canes hands, with regard to how much they control.
Knowing so many people who were debating the upgrade to guarantee, vs some who stuck it out with the 12 game plan, I'm glad this worked out and people who really want to be at the ASG are going to get tickets.
The ASG is essentially a love-letter for the League and it's stars, but it sure is a fun time and I know the Canes, in spite of their sometimes kooky ways, will do an excellent job. We're going to be great hosts, just like the 2004 Draft- times 100. It's going to be off the charts.
Re: ticket exchange, yes, the tricky or make your seat mates mad piece is selling to that much hated fan base (Slugs, Pens, etc) but I do know a few of those games that our friends sold, they made a little extra money because people are willing to pay to see those teams. Now reg season games, I'd cut a little slack, but someone sells a ticket to a Slug fan for playoffs- they're dead to me. :0

It looks like my seatmates are opting to skip the skills comp, but I think I'm going to go, even if I sit between strangers. I figure it may be many, many years before this comes back to Raleigh (if it ever does) and I'd like to experience as much as possible.

I'm a 12 gamer too. I orginally wanted to go to the ASG but couldn't offset the cost for the game. So I decided to go to the All-Star competition instead. I figured it would be more fun, but I know when I watch the ASG on TV that I'll regret not getting tickets...

We upped to a 26 from a 12 for the ASG guarantee and I'm still glad that 12ers are getting the chance.
What I am mad about is that I too figured I would sell plenty on TicketExchange but I can't  We had to add Ryan to our plan this year since he just turned 2 this week. Well, apparently since he was an "add-on" his ticket his separate. Therefore, I can't sell all 4 tickets at once, I have to sell 3 from one plan and 1 from the other. This defeats the whole purpose since I figured I would put all 4 tix up and if they sold, great - if not, we would go and have fun. I can't sell them as 4 though which is beyond aggravating. PJ is trying to fix it but no word back as of yet.

Have we heard from the snooterville set yet? I'm presuming/hoping they stayed in Snooterville, but maybe not in their normal seats.
:lol: I snorted so loud reading this. If you mean Center Ice Premiere? We got the big ol' BOOT out of our seats in 119. Which in speaking with KP, he pretty much told us, we'd likely not get our seats, and likely even more not to be anywhere in that section due to the "league priority" and really cautioned on getting hopes up on 119 even with our pretty early acct creation date.
Soooooo when we filled out our forms, we requested our old seats in 121,(along with "alternate" locations that would suit Mr. Socal) and we got em; Woooot! So very happy. I would have loved to sit in our new seats in 119, but we knew it was a long shot. We requested the 4 we were entitled to as we expect nephew & his wife from PIT to be joining us, and we also ordered 2 extras when they sent out that note that we could request additional- The additional seats are upstairs; hub's coworker who is now addicted to the Canes is thrilled we got them he just wants to be in the bldg.
I'm so happy to see that for the most part, everyone is sitting where they normally sit or pretty close to it; or in some cases, where they requested! So far so good ya'll!

Did anyone get extra tickets? I put in for 8 extras in addition to the 4 I have on my account and got them all (upper level, but still better than I expected). Kind of has me wondering if they hit their STH targets or not and if there are even extras still available. I originally put in for 4 additional tickets and then added in 4 more just a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty clear getting those were not going to be a problem. My only hope is there are no tickets available to the general public - that would probably bring some criticism that I'd rather not hear.

It sounds like they are capping people at 2x the number of tickets they own. I know someone who has 2 seats and requested 6 additional but only got 4 additional. That being said I do think seats are still available since the email the canes sent out mentioned that they would be contacting people who requested LL only to see if they want to purchase UL tickets.

I think it's great that it looks like the mezz folks all got their same seats, since it's such a superior seat than anything else in the UL. After having mezz seats for 4 seasons we moved down to a 12 game plan and moved down to the LL South (only moving because they don't offer mezz for 12 gamers). I have to say that it's nice knowing that when I exchange games, I'm not getting something terribly different. With our schedule the last few years we relied on exchanges and we RARELY were able to get the mezz seats (which isn't surprising) and it was always a bummer.
Long way to say, good job Canes!

We are not in our seats for the ASG. Not sure how I feel about it yet. However, we are still in section 121 one row lower than our normal seats still on the aisle. So we will see how these seats work out.;)
I have a lowly mini-plan in the UGZ, with account creation of 2009. I don't use the tickets anymore (sold them off) and we will be out of town for the ASG, but got 2 tickets for our friends that now have the seats.

We have been STH since '02 and we have a full season. We normally sit in 332, row A. We decided to try for lower level, requesting aisle seats so my hubby can move around (he has a bad back, needs to have the leg mobility which is why we sit where we do for a full season). We got 105, row G on an aisle :smoke: Needless to say, we are quite pleased. I am hoping I might even be able to hear what they are saying on the bench, :D.

O.K... so I pulled-up my account. Where do you see your ASG seat assignments? What do I need to click on? I can't find mine.
EDITED:
Never mind! I found them! Just a bit of a dummy!! ha, hA!
We're just one section over in 124 in Row H. I wonder how close to the ice that is???
I just saw this...CL, my row is "L", so that give you an idea!
