Missed the game entirely.

It's interesting to be on soccer field sidelines during football season. Parents are alums from schools from all over and are either listening to the game or getting updates on their cell phones or are over-hearing other people talk about the games in progress.

I was stunned to hear (from a Wake alum nonetheless) that the Deacons were up 30-17 in the 4th.

Wow, what a bummer.

The D was sloppy. Missing assignments and the like killed any chance for a close game. Totally unnaceptable. If this team is going to find success this year, something will have to happen to drastically change the defense.

It was all the offense could do to keep up...and even they looked unusually sloppy for an O of that calibur. There were a few plays in the game that looked quite impressive..several long, crisp passes by Rivers to Cotchery come to mind...but in the end, the defensive woes, coupled with the loss of T.A. and the impressive show by the Deacon D, made a win impossible.
Special teams also had problems...most noteably the punt return for a TD by a Deacon.

Only by winning out can the Pack reclaim this season.

I was in Winston-Salem with family when this fiasco was taking place...my sister is a Deacs' fan so think about what crap I had to endure...good thing I love her huh?? :D

We got a good old-fashioned ass kicking..we can only hope they are awake now while contemplating what to do with the Buckeyes and their potent offense!!

The defense has 4 freshmen on the line. Everyone knew the defense was not going to be nearly as good this year.

The offense did well in the second half. Rivers had over 400 yards passing, and total offense was around 500 if I'm not mistaken.

What killed the team in this game was penalties. The Pack is usually very disciplined and would only have 5-15 yards worth of penalties in a game. Yesterday it was 10 penalties for 90 yards. A couple of which were 15 yard personal fouls. That's what killed them.

I'll bet dollars to donuts that this Saturday against OSU there will be very few penalties. Their offense is not all that great, especially without Clarett, but their defense is very good. If we can move the ball, in the air and with TA on the ground against that defense we can win. But it will likely be a shootout.

I think it'll be a fairly high scoring game. The Pack fan in me wants to say a 34-28 win, but I'm thinking it'll be more like a 28-17 loss.

We'll see.

Watching this game as an objective bystander, the Pack was definitely looking ahead to this week's matchup with Ohio State. They did not show up for the Wake game until the score was 28-3 and the contest was basically decided. I think that they will play much better this week(especially if Amato has anything to say about it) and I give them a better than 50-50 chance of knocking off OSU. Oh and Mona, did you say OSU and potent offense in the same sentence. The Buckeyes could only score 16 on San Diego State. It is not there offense but their D that state has to worry about. If the Wolfpack can put 21 points on the board, they will beat the Buckeyes.

I was just basing that on last year's team..... I just hope the Pack can look respectable if they can't win!!

Why in the hell did they call TWO quarterback sneaks on that final drive???????????????????? TA should have carried that ball on the first play and his chances of scoring would have been excellent...5 yards away from the goal line.........DAMMIT!!

Yeah what was up with that? Whoever called those 2 QB sneaks should be fired!

THey should have ran the ball to the outside or thrown a pass!
