Figured we'd have a fresh thread for legit deadline deals and to keep the other thread from becoming bigger than necessary.

Now that I work from home (and have a tv) Jay Onrait's live blog isn't as necessary for entertainment in the downtime, but it's still a fun read...

TradeCentre at home --- Even in the downest of downtime (like right now) HIGHLY entertaining.

My favorite this morning was Pierre Maguire about to bust a gut and declare "if Pierre Gauthier is on a plane to ATL right now, they should sue for "Malpractice" (WTH? malpractice?) stunning James Duthie with the fervor- his facial expression was HILARIOUS. Maguire's assertion, is that Gauthier should be working the phones for a "trade". :lol:

Jay Onrait Skyping in was a hoot, and that live blog is hilarious every year.
Good to see Aaron Ward on the 'player panel'.

Hilarious to see that TSN is using 20 "analysts" on this version of Deadline Day. (plus the 10 reporters scattered around the league) Unreal.

So, it's 9am & of course nothing has happened, as per the norm. :lol:

I'm counting on ya'll to keep me updated, and I know you won't let me down :)

I actually had to come into the office today. Was planning on WFH, but I'm out of the office the rest of the week due to travel, so figured I better come in. Although, still not sure how much work i'll be getting done as I'll be checking back here and twitter constantly.

Starting off with a bang- FLA & ATL trading partners.

James Duthie just said last year the first trade was at 10:28am, this one broke at 10:35, so..... we're at least on a pattern. :lol:

re: the Boyes to Buffalo trade yesterday (that thread is closed...) Ugh. Playing them 3 times still this season, them chasing us, do not like. Boyes is a really solid player.

On Boyes- who I really like as a player (until now); as Pierre Maguire & Ray Ferraro said this morning on Tradecentre - he was a 43 goal scorer a couple years ago, and now he's a 12 goal scorer this season.... "he's trending the wrong way"

TradeCentre now reaching: today is the anniversary of the Gold in Vancouver. They're re-living it with Mike Babcock. Killing time indeed.

This has to be the biggest Tradedeadline bust on record. (For those who broadcast these things all day- TSN/CBC ) Was really slow going most of the day. Penner deal probably the biggest one? The Kings gave up alot, IMO.

Really? Arnott just seems big and slow to me these days. I wouldn't have given Steckel for him
