Two responses that said "it wasn't funny" are funny as hell? You must be easily amused.

Laugh if you must, but the Avs releasing Bates would be big news. And it would be news that was of interest to fans of his former team.

Personally, I hate this kind of "joke". And it's in the wrong forum anyway - should have been in Pro Sports now shouldn't it?

Hey we could back Battaglia if that happened, then we would really get Vrbata for a steal and the ladies get their eye candy back. It would be a win/win. I would be glad to have him back

No question Bates is a handsome guy. But believe it or not, some people value his on ice skills too. :roll:

Bates was good-looking? I never even noticed. All I noticed was what a great game he played when we beat Detroit last season (you should go back and watch it if you don't remember), how much he stepped it up in the play-offs year before last, how hard he worked everyday in practice long after the season was lost last year, what a wonderful person he was and how well he treated his fans. Can't imagine why I might be sad to see the guy get released and consider it quite "serious" if it were true. :roll:
