Hey folks. I was hoping that I could get some help from "y'all". My team up here is playing our 3rd playoff game tonight. We are 1-1 and I had 2 goals in a losing cause last game.
Since our boys aren't playing tonight, I was wondering if you could send some of your "Playoff MOJO" our way. Our collective Regular Season Mojo has been a bit off, but the "Playoff MOJO" seemed to work rather well last year, so I was hoping you could send some our way, so we can bring home another win tonight.

Just repeat that times Ronnie's jersey number, and voila! Instant good luck/mojo!
Oh and if that doesn't work...then just try your hardest to conjure the image of my Ron Francis action figure in your head. Why my Ronnie figure? Well, I ordered it on his birthday and it came the day after he scored his 20th goal for this season. If THAT doesn't bring you mojo, I don't know what will.
Oh and of course, good luck to you and your team Aaryn. ;)

OMG, MOJO RISING! 6-6 tie! We were DOWN 5-1 at the end of the first, and came back to tie the game with 07.1 to go! Our goalie took a wicked slash to the head in the first minute and played the game a bit loopy.
This game was a VERY chippy affair, and started because of the non-call on the slash. I was tossed from the game midway through the 2nd because of a bodycheck. Bodychecking is outlawed in our league, but I was justfied by the 2 highsticks I took to the face which precipitated the bodycheck. Just moments prior to the check, I was highsticked for the second time by the same guy. The play went up ice and he slashed my centreman, and then turned towards me with his head down (looking for the puck) and I "filled him in". One of the guys on my team, Phil, said after the game "Hey Bomber (my nickname is Bomber), I thought they were only dropping bombs in Iraq!", so you kind of get the idea of how hard of a hit it was. The refs thought I was retaliating for the slash. After the game I pointed out the marks on my face and they said they tossed me from the game to try and get a hold of the game before it deteriorated. Too late in my mind, but nonetheless. They had a point, but it also proved to be the turning point for my team. The boys rallyed and rode the wave for the rest of the game.
It was a true "grit" effort, and showed that we were the better team and didn't have to play "their" game. We could have just started hacking and whacking like they did, but we focused and came out on top. I was a bit disappointed in myself after the game for not getting to be part of all the magic, and maybe my bodycheck wasn't the best move, but I have always said "Get me once, shame on you. Get me twice, you're going down!", and that's just what I did. The ref who was escorting me off the ice told me "Nice F'N hit!", so I'm not too disappointed. I didn't get into this league to get highsticked by some young puppies who can't control their sticks. If they'd all take the cages off their helmets like I have, I'm SURE the sticks would stay down.
We got goals from our sniper, Emmsy, and Johnston, but the big one came from our biggest player, the Big Show. He got the GTG with a true, bull-like effort. He jumped on the ice and just put his head down and went for the front of the net.
I told the guys about the MOJO request I made to all of you, and a few of them think that your MOJO and this performance will be our springboard for the rest of the playoffs. Thanks, y'all. Playoff Mojo Lives!

We play again next Monday, March 31 at 10:30 PM and the playoffs are set-up as a round-robin 8 game series. We play the other 7 playoff teams once each and the 2 with the most points (we are now 1-1-1 for 3 points) play the championship game.
