I do not know about the rest of you guys but this relly gets in my craw. Maurice Clarett is suing the NFL to have them change the rule about being three years out of high school before someone can be eligible for the NFL draft. Most of the pundits who have weighed in on this say that chances are he will win and get to go into the draft. What irks me is why should he profit from this. The only reason he is doing this is because he has been suspended by Ohio State for the season for filing a false police report and also getting to take an exam orally in a class where others had to take the written version. Why should he profit when he f*cked up? Just curious what other LGCers thought?

Well, I think he's definitely NOT a class act. His suspension from OSU is valid, and should wait out his time, but he won't do that.

That being said, the rule in the NFL is illegal. Sooner or later someone was going to challenge it.

Now, once the rule is gone, making anyone at any age eligible to go in the draft, it does not mean that person has to get drafted.

If a team doesn't think that person is big enough, mentally or physically, they won't draft them.

But Clarett will get drafted, and he'll likely be good. I feel sorry for the team(s) that have to deal with the kid though.

agree totally JD... he's suing so that he can beat the system.

I say screw him. sit the season out, then go back to playing by the rules. hell, he ought to just count himself lucky for not being in county for obstructing justice or impeding an investigation (considering he lied to cops)
