I'm sure there are tons of these - they've popped up in other threads...
Yesterday my kids played in an inline hockey tournament. This is a conversation I overheard:
Dad #1: If we win this game, how about we take the whole team to the Hurricanes game tonight. You can get seats in the upper level for $10. They are playing the Washington Senators.
Dad #2: Really? $10?
Dad #1: Yup. $10 with a can of food.
Dad #2: Can of food?
Dad #1: Yeah, they are doing some food drive for some reason.
Dad #2: Oh.
Dad #1: I heard that have this kid, #12. He's only 18 years old and he's the star. They picked him the 2nd round of the draft, or their 2nd pick, or something like that.
I was baffled that two hockey Dads (albeit inline) were so confused, but then I noticed their kids had uniforms had Myrtle Beach on them, so I suppose that's a somewhat valid excuse. But it was entertaining nonetheless. ;)
