Simple question: Can STHs buy tickets for the STH price at the box office (for opening night)? And if so, how would you go about it?

Not sure about game night. But they can get them now.

I bought 4 extra tickets at the box office, and I went on a weekday to pick them up. I did this before they went on sale to the general public, though. I don't work that far from RBC Center, so I find it easier to do this because I can ask more ticket availability questions. Besides, I got hosed a couple of times on the online method. Going to the box office at an off time ensures me that I won't screw up, and they won't screw up. :-)

So if I throw some cash at a friend who's an STH, they can go to the box office and show their STH card and get the STH price on a ticket for me?

hmmmm .... that I'm not sure of. I think they are still regular price but we can get tickets to any game in the season right now.

Getting add'l ticket at STH prices is a perk of being a STH. So that answer is yes.
Someone said that last year you had to buy them x number of days before the game, but I don't think that's the case any longer.

Two years ago, you had to buy them atleast 5 days in advance and had to fax or email the request in. Same was true last year-it was frustrating if you wanted extra tickets and didn't know in advance. We talked to our ticket reps and they refused to let us buy them at the RBC at any point and less than 5 days. Seems like they should change the policy-they'd sell more tickets.

Storm,
If you know a STH, they can even e-mail you tickets using an account manager on the canes website. It's a process not without its bugs, of course, as a relatively new process. System tends to boot you out prior to finalizing sale and forces you to log in and start from scratch all over again.
Good luck!

Just got back from the RBC an hour ago and bought opening night tickets for a couple friends at my STH price..... I always find it better to go to the box office in person so I can find out exactly what they have available quicker.

Did you also get the free tickets to an additional game?
The cost of sitting in row B for Opening Night was offset for me because of the free tickets to the Panthers game.

Pardon my interruption, but what free tickets? I just picked up quite a few extra tickets on top of my season ticket package. Was I entitled to some free tickets?

AshleyGirl - did you happen to ask how the tickets were selling for the opener? Wonder if they're close to a sellout.
My kids hockey team had some access to some this week - so at least they are really trying to get the place full - one way or another.

...but back to that free tickets thing? Did we miss something?

Just wanted to share an experience I had with getting tickets to opening night a couple of weeks ago that I think is kindof interesting. I went through the season ticket holder account manager and found the seats I wanted and then tried to go to the box office to buy the same exact seats to save the additional $3 per ticket convenience charge. The lady at the box office told me the whole section I wanted was sold out. I came back to the office and found the seats available online again and called the box office. Again I was told that I must be mistaken, there is nothing available. "Her manager" got on the phone and told me that some of the "better" seats are held back and not sold at the box office, but are used as a "perk" for season ticket holders that use the online service. I wonder at what point these tickets are made available to the general public. Seems kindof strange to do that, but nothing really surprises me anymore.

Interesting to hear that DeFauwFan. I bought extra tickets for both opening night and New Year's Eve games. I got better opening night tickets through the online service but much, much better seats at the box office than online for New Year's eve. I'm not sure that is much logic in their operations.

Very interesting. And consistent too. Perhaps they should actually ensure that the online system actually works and is actually marketed through e-mail to their STH's before they do something like that.
nah, would cost too much money....
How about an $8.50 beer toast to the front office? ;)

All I know is Section 328 is mostly sold out (did get two seats together near the top), and managed three more seats in section 111, supposedly the only three left in that price range. I would think arena will be packed.
