Well, everyone....Friday I turned 17 years old and what a weekend. I spent tonight (Oct. 11) with someone you all know...Rebecca :) and I must say it was great. I wish the Canes had won tonight, but hey...you cant have everything right?! But I was impressed with the way the Canes played most of the game. I found it odd that the Canes outshot the Devs but still ended up with 1. I know Marty was a difference but still, we need to put more quality shots on net. Stop shooting the puck into the goalie pads. Also, we need to quit looking for the perfect play. We did it last year and we stunk. We arent a team like Colorado who can do that stuff. We need to play simple. Get the puck pass it to an open man and fire! Atleast get the puck on net and hope for a rebound because that is better than a turnover I believe! :)
Another thing that bugged me was Kevin Weekes letting in goal #2. Ok, I know 2 goals isnt really "bad". But letting in a soft goal like that when no one was in front of him ticked me off. He CANNOT keep doing that. I really think if the game had been tied at 1 and we force overtime, we would have won. THe 3rd period was all Hurricanes! Oh well, lets hope we get a win against Florida and get back on track!
