I thought it would be fun to find out what everyone thinks are the best and worst jerseys of the teams in the NHL. This includes anything from colors to logos to helmets.

Best: Hurricanes....seriously....I love them. I don't mind the Avs home jerseys either. And honesty I love Montreal's home jersey.

I hate to say it, but I do like the Leafs' jerseys - they are clean and classic and I like the blue and white. And of course I like ours :cool:

Great: 'Canes Home! Nothing gets better than that classic blend of white, red and black. I also like the Wild's home unis and Ottawa's away jersey has a neat design to it. All of the Av's sweaters are pretty sweet.

No. I have a red jersey adorned with "FantastiCane", a "4", and a captain's "C"; and I really adore it. As a matter of fact, I'm planning to get another red jersey with my somewhat new "Stormbringer" moniker sometime before next season.

It just costs more to customize a jersey, period. Though, I think just having a C or A is definitely not as much as getting a name and number.

I don't know how it works if you are putting your own name on it, but when I bought a Brindy jersey, they automatically said they would put the A on it and it was the same price as a regular lettering.

I actually like both of the 'canes jersey, I mean they could get way worse...for example the wild. When my mom and I went to a game vs. minnesota this season, we spent half the time debating whether they look more like trees or john deer lawnmowers ;)

The Coyotes won't just have a new home next season when they move into their new, 17,500-seat arena in Glendale. They'll have a new look as well.

Today the team will announce its plans to unveil a new logo and uniform scheme for the 2003-04 season. The redesign, which has been rumored for months, will be introduced in early September, coinciding with the start of training camp.

The new duds reflect more of an evolution than a complete change, according to Brian Byrnes, the Coyotes' executive vice president of business operations.

"Our direction is to evolve the look we now have," Byrnes said. "We like the Coyote, but we want to give him more personality, more strength and make him more dynamic, yet retain a lot of the characteristics currently in our logo.

"We'll also have a more simplistic and traditional sweater."

The Coyotes engaged in a number of fan surveys and focus groups and determined they needed to update their look in the marketplace. They hired one of the leading firms for sports logos and designs, Denver-based Adrenaline Designs, and loved what they saw.

But until September, it's a secret.

Fans will definitely notice a color change, however. Word leaked last season that brick-red will be predominately featured in the new uniforms. Starting next season, all NHL teams will wear their dark, road sweaters at home and their white, home sweaters on the road.

Phoenix's green sweaters are history. Byrnes said the club will not have a third jersey in 2003-04.

"We have respect for our past and respect for the roots we established in the market," he said, "but we're moving into a new building and this is a new chapter in our story."

Yup...and white away. A dude at The Eye told me a few weeks ago that a third jersey has yet to have been developed, and they don't know if one will be created in time for the 2003-2004 season.

Anyway, regarding Phoenix and their getting a new design, as ugly as the green is/was, I kind of liked the Yotes' old design. Hopefully, they'll keep the southwestern motif that made their uniforms rather unique...I can understand their getting rid of that green...

I have to say, the less cluttered, the better. My eyes can't compete with some of those busy looking jerseys. :p

Best : Detroit ( red on white), Toronto ( blue on white ~ the white on blue jerseys are WAY too much blue ), Carolina , Tampa Bay and New Jersey.

Worst : The Wild, Columbus and the Flyers.

(I'm totally affected by color, so if the jersey is a particularly wretched shade, I honestly have trouble looking at them.)
