As a diehard Yankee fan, who will be watching the World Series even though I do not live in New York or Florida, let me just say to the Red Sox fans out there, it is not the fault of your team that you are going home, it is the fault of your manager. Grady Little is to blame for the game 7 loss period. The Sox had a great season this year and I sincerely hope that the Yanks and Sox battle for the ALCS again next year. As for comments made in another thread(Cubs) by Mookie, by your name I assume you are a Mets fan. My only comment to your theory about the salary cap etc, is that if you had a GM who wasn't an idiot maybe then the mets, would have something to show for all the money they spent.

Let Go Yankees!! Clap Clap Clap-CLap-Clap

No it is not luck, it is those two strippers Aura and Mystique(in the eternal words of Curt Shilling). Ohyeah, it is also a little thing called the Curse of the Bambino. OOps and let me not forget,Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera, all they do is win baby(in the eternal words of Al Davis) :D :) :spin: ;)

Hey, JD, you hit the nail right on the head there!! I'm sure I speak on behalf of all Met Fan Nation that I was on the "Fire Steve Phillips" bandwagon the day they dropped out of the A-Rod sweepstakes. You must remember that. That was a day all Met fans circled on their calendars, A-Rod was a free agent. Only problem was his agent was the notrious Scott Boras, and I believed Boras, not A-Rod, was asking for the world on a silver platter. Anyway, no negotiations ever took place and I think it had a huge effect on the entire team.

Do the diehard Yanks fans give credit to Brian Cashman for the recent success, or should it go to Gene "The Stick" Michael, the Yanks' "Super Scout"? I tend to give it to both Michael and the days King George was suspended which allowed the Yanks to keep their good young prospects. I don't think all the homegrowns would still be in pinstripes if George could've traded them away for an aging washed-up super star of days gone by.
