Since it was only 18 minutes into the game I'd say that it was probably because ESPN2 wasn't working for most people on the board in the beginning of the game. Desperation brings people out of the woodwork. ;)

Actually, I've thought all along that it's something along those lines. I've been watching very carefully to see if these IP addresses that are hitting the site are doing anything.

So far, the only thing I can find that *may* be connected is a surge in spam email to my LGC email address. So it could be some script(s) that are gathering email addresses.

That may be coincidental.

So basically, I have no clue what's going on.

I don't think it is Santy, Santy just defaces the site with a message, it doesn't harvest emails. What version of php are we on? The security hole that Santy exploits is closed in version 2.0.11

Here's a question....this may not be at all possible, but can we re-set the "most online" tracker? That 194 was this weirds mob thingie and us real users will never top that (until we win the Cup, anyway :beatup: ) and I like seeing what brings record numbers out. :)
