Oilers sign Staios to extension

The Edmonton Oilers have signed defenceman Steve Staios to a contract extension.
The 30 year old has agreed to a three year deal worth $7.050-million. Staios was scheduled to become a free agent at the end of the season.
The Oilers are expected to confirm the signing at a news conference this afternoon.
In 18 games this season, Staios had two goals and eight points for the Oilers.
Staios is in his third season with the Oilers after signing as an unrestricted free agent following two seasons in Atlanta.
