Since we have unlimited bandwidth now, I figured I'd throw those having issues getting an avatar in that small a size file a bone.

The new size is as follows:

80 pixels x 80 pixels
10 Kilobytes in size. <-- This is up from 6k previously.

Happy avataring! ;)

Thanks!! :spin:

Well, I'm a spoiled brat so I don't mind following up a gift with a request for another one. Might we get signatures back sometime?

Thanks bunches - unfortunatley computer illiterate me is just one step away from thinking an "avatar" is a zoo animal. (Often caught, stuffed and used as decorative lamps :D )

just wondering if there are any plans to increase the avitar filesize again? not being greedy, i was just curious because i've been messing around with some cool mpeg-->gif software and would love to put it into use with highlight clips or whatever once the season gets started.

is it possible to get around the limit if we host the avitars on our own webspace? i'm not sure if you can do that or if that would work out.

anyway, i thought i'd ask. :D

It would be great to see the size upped to 100 x 100 pixels. That's the standard avatar size at a lot of places now.

Ok everybody, due to popular demand and me being in a great mood today, I have upped the avatar size to 100 x 100 pixels and 15 Kb.

Have fun. :)

I've had my Jaro picture forever. How do I make a new picture small enough to be an avatar? I tried cropping one but it takes out his head.

Thanks. [/list]

Unless you have software that can compress an image, you'll just have to cut away the background space, like white areas or lower body (since you dont want to guillotine him).

Awwww! But guillotining can be so much fun! And educational too.
