View Full Version : Emails Not Getting Through?

Lately I have been noticing that topics I have replied to in the past are being bumped, and yet I'm not getting notifications via email. Has there been anyone else noticing this and/or has there been a lot of returned emails to lgc.com?

I don't have email notification on... but I'll turn it on if we need to do some testing.
Caniac is the only one who gets bounce notifications, so you'll have to find out from him.
does your email seem to be working ok (in it's normal capacity)?
are the email all of a sudden being filtered to a junk folder or something?
I'm assuming you re-checked your lgc settings to make sure email notification was still on huh?
/shrug. just some quick ideas.

Yes, all is well with my settings.

Nope, none of my filters are set to mark lgc.com replies as junk.

You got that right, I might actually want to hear some of the things people have to say here ;) !

Thanks for the help, please keep me posted!

I have been having the same problem, and my settings are set up to receive the emails.
Same here. I only sporadically recieve my "private message" notifications.

Caniac is the only one who can see if your emails are bouncing, so I have no ideas.. sorry!! I don't have post notification on but I am getting all my PM notifications. I guess you just need to come in and hit "View New Posts" and read them all :p :)

This seems to be happening again, and I'm wondering if Caniac knows about it this time. My ISP (Rogers) just went into partnership with Yahoo, and there has been some transition going on utilising the features Yahoo offers, but this isn't the problem. I'm seeing more and more postings in threads I have contributed to going on without getting any topic reply notifications. They aren't going into my bulk mail folder, so they must be bouncing back. Mods, help.

There's been a LOT of email bouncing lately, but none are to you Aaryn...
My guess is they're having issues with the merger and getting all the mailserver's straightened out.

Hmmmmmm, that's curious. I guess I'll have to keep my eyes on the board, and keep hitting the "Posts since your last visit" link.

Just out of curiousity, Aaryn.... why do you even use that feature of the board? Don't you find all those E-mails as annoying as Spam? I don't even have that feature turned on......
I just have the index page bookmarked and check occasionally through-out the day.....
different strokes for different folks, I guess....

No, I don't think of them as spam, nobody has tried to sell me anything... yet. Besides, getting email (especially from here) makes me feel loved :wah: [insert Harvey Firestein-ism from SNL]

Hahaha
I kind of hate that feature myself, since it seems that about 20% of users either 1) Put in a fake email, so their registration information bounces, 2) Have so much email in their account that it's full and the email bounces, or 3) Have misstyped their address and the email bounces.
I get anywhere from 30-50 bounced emails a day, mostly through the topic notification.
