why do brindy and wesley get free rides from fans? i wasn't high on bringing wesley back before the year and i think as it stands now the decision to bring him back has been a total mistake. brindy i love...but damn, where has he been? people pile onto O for not scoring (i agree 2 goals in 20 games aint gonna get it done) yet brindy seems to get a free pass. what's up with that?

I was, honestly, not that thrilled with the re-singing of Wesley over the summer. I really thought it was more money than we needed to put into another D-man (once Markov and Boughner were signed). But, I must admit that now that he's here I've been really pleased with the way he has played. I've also really missed him since he's been injured. Overall, I think that was the right move.

As far as Brind'Amour goes I don't think he's been himself this season either. He's missed more passes and made a lot more neutral zone turnovers than I've seen him make in the past. I think he escapes criticism because he is perceived as one of the players that always works the hardest and because he is always his own hashest critic unlike O'Neill who people always seem to think has an ego (though I've yet to see it in regards to his playing and team relations....he is the ONLY member of this team to take any responsibility for anything this season).

lately Brindy has been playing great -- not only contributing with key assists the last few games but not making nearly as many bad passes, etc, as he was making earlier in the season. as for people not criticizing him, plenty of people do (trust me, i notice, lol) but it's true that some people may allow him a 'slower' start because he makes up for it in other ways (sick FO%, minutes and +/-).....
