View Full Version : I got a nice reward today! (Why I left the game early)

I was at the game tonight for about 30 minutes. That is when I got the call. About 2 years ago, I was driving down Cary Parkway and I saw a blue zippered bag on the road newar the YMCA. I stopped and picked it up. It conatined $25,000 in cash and 2 packs of cigarettes. I called the police on my cell phone and they came out. They took a report and told me if no one claimed it, it was mine. Honestly I forgot all about it. When I was down in the locker room, my cell phone rang. It was Lt. Lee from the CPD. He informed me that the money had not been claimed and it was mine. $10,000 of it was donated to Wake County Schools, and $15,000 is mine. I even go the two packs of cigatettes that were in the bag, but I don't smoke so I just threw them away.
I had to go the the evidence room and sign a few papers, and it was mine.
The officer drove me to Kroger where they have a Western Union. I had to fill out 4 separate money orders of $2500 each and send the money to myself, so I can pick it up tomorrow since all of the banks are closed, and I do not want that much money in my house.
Very pleasant suprise.
I also found out after talking to a friend that they money is tax free because of some law.
Just thought I would share!

I'm with RIO....it's Kharma. Can't think of a nicer guy for this to happen to. Hope you bring some of that good Kharma to the Canes as well next season....their's apparantly stinks! Congratulations! And have fun spending some of that cash!

I am missing my second day of work in a row and I never miss work. I have been talking about April 1st for months now telling everyone to watch out because I am going to get them. Back in January, they got my keys and moved my car, but that was kind of weak.
Anyway, today was supposed to be the revenge day. They are probably worried more with me not being there thinking that I could sneak up and get them any time. :D

that is even funnier than your joke.......I imagine their walking on eggshells,expecting some outlandish prank.....or maybe something happened and they thought it was a joke....Like the regional superintendant drops by for an unexpected review, all your coworkers think its a freind of yours playing a joke so they act all crazy, pretending to drink and gamble in the teachers lounge, only to find out it was the REAL superiitendant...and everyone gets fired! BUt then Gene explains what happened and every thing is wrapped up in 30 minutes plus a few commercial breaks!........hmmm i wonder whats on TV right now?

MG....I just told Mr SHC about this little prank you pulled. I read him your original post....and then told him it was an AF. He says you deserve some sort of medal for that! Most convincing AF story I've ever heard!
