Not good though.

We will officially finish dead last in the league, and hence are the first team to go from Stanley Cup finalist to Worst in the league.

I bet that no other team has ever gone through the injury riddled season like we have this year. People thought Toronto had it bad last year, but damn we have them beat.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but...

We have three games remaining...

Currently have 61 points, so we can have at most 67 total

Pittsburgh has 63, Columbus has 66

If they lose out and don't force ties we can pass either or both, correct?

I sure hope so. If Sunday's game is anything like tonight's - they'll get their ass kicked off into the summer! ;)

Seriously, I'm all prepared to give a nice ovation to the team at the end of the Sunday game, but Geez - they better try a little harder. Here's hoping the Islanders clinch tomorrow and have a little less interest in the game on Sunday than the Canes trying to salvage SOME dignity!

I've honestly lost track of how many times i thought that'd be true this season. :mad:


I will also give a standing O at the close of the game, and season, on Sunday.... but surely it'll be mostly for putting a bullet in the head of what is this season, and not for the "fight" they've exhibited this year. :roll:

Is it October yet? :crazy:

Ain't it sad...I am wondering that myself...and also wondering what the heck I will do with a normal lunch instead of Canes practice!! :cry: :sad: ahhhhhhhhh...let me try to remember the sound of the puck on the ice..so it can get me through til September!! :roll:

My fault. I was told at teh game last night, by someone on the Canes staff, that if we lost we were locked in for dead last. Sweet, maybe it won't happen.

Regardless of how we finish up this season I like to look at the bright side. We have not gone from first to worst because we did not win the cup. If we had won the cup and then finished dead last, now that would really suck.

Well despite the negative we'll get a first round draft pick :) . And out team will be back together next year.
