View Full Version : Stormy....Species???

I was just reading over the article titled "Eric Staal," and that reminded me of something. I was going through the replies and noticed the picture from the golf tournament that had Stormy on that bike and Eric off to the right.
Well....I was at the last Bolts game and I met some very nice people that came from Tampa to see the game. I was asking them about their mascot, what exactly he was. He's a lightning bug (go figure), lol. Then they questioned me about Stormy. Apparently, they couldn't figure out exactly what he is!!! I mean, I think it's obvious he's an ice hog (or pig, whichever you prefer to call him). They thought he looked like a dog!!!! ROFL. I was like nooo, he's a pig. Then I guess it occured to them that he was a pig and not a dog. Oh well. That golf picture just reminded me of it and I found it somewhat amusing. Speaking of Stormy, I never did understand why they gave him a facelift anyway. He supposedly looks more cheerful now, but I think he looks scarier! I wonder how many more kids have cried from looking at him! Just a thought to consider.....

I think Stormy'd look better roasted, and sliced on a plate next to a big pile of barbecued baked beans and potato salad.

*drool* No Slaw?
No way, Turby. That's what the beef cutlets and propeller hat sandwiches are for.

The First game I went to I thought Stormy was a teddy bear with a big nose. I'm still not sure I wasn't correct.

I think that's a very good guess, Chickie. *sits back and narrowly stares* Say, Chicks.... is that Darcy Tucker in your av.... *leans closer* Oh silly me. My mistake. ;) :D *little troll laugh*

I've said it before and I'll say it again...someone needs to bring back the old Stormy with "normal" eyes. Just like his current cousin, he may not be all that discernible as a hog, but at least he wouldn't look like he has had one too many cans of Jolt.

Come on guys...lay off Stormy. Gotta love him. He would support the team even if they want 0-81 all season. He would have the same happy look and jolly attitude.

That's because his expression is whip-stitched to his porcine face, PCF. lol!! He'd probably like to grimace a time or two, but he's unable!! Just like the Joker!! *shudder* Stormy's probably a deeply psychologically scarred animal. Ah yes. The invisible tears of a clown: He squeaks his belly in distress and we all laugh.
;) :D

I suspect he's just a horn dog in a Stormy suit. :-)

The CapsRoadCrew believes he is a pig-dog (not that those exist or anything, but it makes perfect sense after a few beers). We also agree with Canesluver, the BBQ sandwiches at y'alls arena are known as "Stormy Sammiches".
You should hear what we say about Slapshot, though...sigh...

I too wonder what Stormy tastes like...I'm guessing very good, but definitley not roasted. I would prefer barbeque fo' sho'! But...he does look a little like a dog, I can see that.

You are close. Stormy is actually a bearpig. A rare breed found in the NC mountains. The very same mountains famous for inbreeding as a matter of fact. As for all of you who suggest eating the bearpig...shame on you. You pubic hairs should be infected with the fleas of a thousand camels! Long live the crack smoking bearpig, Stormy!

If he's anything like that nicotine-reeking Easter Bunny a few years ago that put an arm around my best friend, my sister on his lap, and a friendly hand on my thigh while muttering "I *love* this job", then I agree.

He's an Ice Hog, a very strange one though! He looks more like a fat big being ready to be cooked! :spin:

Awe, poor Stormy taking so much abuse! LoL. Don't cook the team mascot!! Of course, there ARE a couple of people that might look good on a spit

But they wouldn't taste nearly as good with a vinegar based sauce and hush puppies!

OK, I know that this is completely off-topic as well as a thread jack, and I apologize.
I'm living in Heidelberg, Germany. I miss BBQ. I've never found a good formula for sauce. Correction, I found one, then lost it.
Can anyone send me one? It needs to include only common ingredients (I don't use the PX here) and can't have "bbq sauce" as one of them. German bbq sauce is, well, worse than the Caps. Heck, worse than the Pens.
Thanks!
