Well, so far so good on the homestand. 2 games, 2 wins, both by 2-1 margins, with 5 games left on this early winter 7-game homestand. 10 points out there for the taking:

12/31 Anaheim 12-15-4-5
1/2 Detroit 22-12-4-1
1/4 Phoenix 11-12-11-2
1/6 St. Louis 21-9-4-1
1/8 NYR 15-13-5-3

I would be thoroughly disappointed if we didn't win 3 of those games (Anaheim, Phoenix, and the NYR) and steal a tie or maybe even an OT win against either Detroit or St. Louis. The target has to be at least 6 or 7 points for this stretch of 5 games in order for the Canes to continue clawing their way back into the Southeast division race.

St. Louis was bleeding from every oriface last night. With their back ups in net, we have a real shot. The Detroit game should be interesting, to say the least. I feel that our defense is very good and if clicking, can shut down just about anyone's offense. The real crux comes in with our being unable to score. If they come ready to play for all 5 games, 6-7 points shouldn't be a problem. 10 points isn't out of the realm of possibility.

I'm being God-awful, extremely, disgustingly, ridiculously optimistic and saying 8-10. :D I really think we are sooooo close to getting the scorers going and add in the amazing Kevin and the D and I think we really can go on a tear here.

good to see no one is yet to vote for 0-5 ... that means all 12 voters believe we'll come out of it with a winning record. I'm gonna guess 3-1-1, but hopefully we fare better!

I voted 8-10 as well....I think the ability to play and the heart to win are finally coming together for our guys...I hope!!

I'm thinking 3-0-2-0, with the ties vs. Detroit and the Rangers. 8 points sounds great.....'tis a shame that I mistakingly voted 6-7...

I'd be happy with 6-7 points. I think that is a realistic goal for the canes. I know they'll be trying to win all of them (hopefully) but they are all very tough teams (even anaheim at times).

Hopefully we can go 3-*-* and get some good momentum going through January!
