I set up a playoffs pool for anyone here interested (a week late of course)

Once again, a fabulous prize of nothing is offered (that and bragging rights)..

I've never used officepools.com before, but hopefully I set it up in a way that makes sense ;)

This is of course, free.

Just point your browser to:

If you've already participated in Office-Pools.com before then log in, click on POOLS, and then 'JOIN A POOL'. If you haven't played before, then 'SIGN UP TO PLAY' and you'll be directed right to 'JOIN A POOL'.

I am learning this site as I go, 2 things to note when you are signing up and picking:

1. When it asks you for your first name and last name, fill in with whatever you want shown as your handle It defaults your full name as a team name. If any of you who already signed up want to change, just re-register and let me know and I can kick your original spot out.

2. Leave your Pickset at 1

Since I have never set up a football pool before, I may have made wrong choices. The following shows the parameters I picked. If the majority wants something to change prior to the next football game, I will happily change it.


Deadline Option By default, the deadline for each round is the starting time of the earliest game in each round. You may elect to have an earlier deadline for your pool if you wish. This gives your pool members a chance to print out the seepicks grid to take with them, should they not have Internet access when that first game starts.

During football season there are some weeks when games start early, on Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays. In those weeks the deadline will always be the earliest game start, regardless of the selection you make here.

Choices: (I'll put the current setting in red)
Earliest Game/Event Start
Sundays at 3 AM EST
Saturdays at 3 AM EST
Fridays at 3 PM EST

Advance SeePicks Browse By default, the "SeePicks" grid is not available for browse by pool members until after the deadline passes for the given round. However, if you want to allow players to see each others picks before the deadline in a given round you can do so by changing this value.

This integer value represents the number of hours before the round's deadline that the SeePicks grid will be available to your pool members.

Should your pool use tie-breakers? In most pools, in a given 'round', it is likely that two or more players will tie in their winning selections. The pool administrator has the option of employing tie-breakers....
...by requiring the prediction of a specific tie-breaker game/event.
...to further resolve a tie, you may also require players to select the total score/points for the tie-breaker game/event....
....as well as the HOME team's score...
....and even the AWAY team's score.

I have to admit that was so boring though.. I've never done a football playoff pool before and there is just not many choices lol. I don't watch college basketball, but the March Madness pools are always fun anyway lol
When does that start? If someone wants to run it, speak now.. if no one wants to admin it, I can.
