To all posters!

I just want to say thank you to everyone (well most :D ) who posts on here. Here is my story:

I have been posting on an NC State message board for a long time. It used to be pretty good. There are a few people with some inside info and some other pretty informed posters. But now the message board has gone to hell. Every thread turns into a bash Herb Sendek thread. People join the boards just to bash him. Even though Herb has taken us to the ACC tourney final and the NCAA tourney two years in a row that is not good enough. We finished on the top half of the ACC this year. That is only the second time in 20 years that we have finished in the top 1/2 of the ACC believe it or not.

People on the site also talk crap about the players every time they make a mistake. I try to avoid posting anything basketball realted anymore, because I know where it is going. You can bash the players and coaches, but if you talk about the "fans" then you will be baned from the site.

After not going to the postseason for about 11 years, Herb has gone to the NIT 4 times, the NCAA tourney 2 times, and the ACC final 3 times.
I think that Herb is doing a great job, but on that site, if you support Herb, you pretty much get bashed too.

Anyway, here is my point I was getting too. Since the Canes reached the SCF last year, expectations were very high this year. I do not have to say anything about the season, but I do have to say something about the fans. Hurricanes fans are awesome! How easy would it have been to say forget it, they suck. There were sellouts or near sellouts against teams like Atlanta and Florida. The crowds were loud and supportive for the Canes. People did yell at the players and coaches at the games. It has just been great. I wish that NC State fans were as loyal as Hurricanes fans. I am and there are some others, but for the most Canes fans take it.

Thanks for keeping these message boards civil and a fun place to post and talk about the Canes despite how bad season was. It is very refreshing change.

I forgot to mention that I do not mind if people want Sendek gone, but the way they talk about him on the message boards is sick. DO it in a respectable way, without calling him and they players names and junk like that. I guess if I say anything else than, this is going ot be moved to the College Sports board. :D

That is why I left ch.com and came here...when I go into a forum to talk about my beloved Canes..I don't want to see them trashed....I understand constructive criticism..but don't totally trash them...I am too strong a defender of theirs to put up with that! :mad:

Everybody here is nice and talks about the Canes in a way that is civil and not rude unto other posters, the team, and for the most part, fans of other teams who happen by here. This is the place for diehard Caniacs like we are....nowhere else do we have the collective commitment to a team like we have here. I've never seen a board with this close-knit of a group...and we're positive too! All to many boards come to be trash like the Woofpack board MG mentioned...

And it's all thanks to our fearless leader. (Can I get a 3-Smilie? :p )

I read that earlier, SHC. Devilman is the coolest, even though I don't much like NJ. That may just be the Scott Stevens factor, though!
