Time between Championship Games and the Super Bowl

Should there really be two weeks between the AFC and NFC Championship games and the Super Bowl? is two too much?

I think any time that you can take an extra week to hype the rivalry it's better for viewership numbers. Not that they would be low without it...

That being said, I don't know if the media is doing enough to keep people hungry for football and prepared for the big game. I don't know how you could keep football on the minds of people thru 2 weeks. Perhaps a consolation game? Eagles vs. Colts? I'm sure neither team could get too pumped up, though.

Two is too freakin' long. They are basically not playing the same game they were by the time they get there. One week is plenty.

I'm not in the camp that thinks the players need the rest but I think there is something to be said for the time to plan strategically, possibly help injured players recuperate and also for the cities of the teams going to lay in the all important cache of wings.

I think while two weeks is alright, it may be a bit long. One week would probably be sufficient enough for a little rest.
