There goes another prospect. Just release him now.

I hope this is an isolated incident...one of the many reasons I like hockey is because the players aren't criminals like in other sports leagues. He's setting a bad example for our organization and the sport.

Anyone who messes with that stuff has no place being in our system.

Well, I can't say I'm suprised with our luck this season...but this is a horrible move for Kaspars and bad for team image. Cut 'em loose. We don't need another Theo Fleury.

There goes another prospect. Just release him now.

The article states that he hasn't played due to concussion and that his contract expires after the season and that he was likely to play in Russia next year. Thankfully it sounds like neat and tidy parting of the ways.

Chump.

Kaspars wasn't really a prospect--JR mostly traded for him so that Igor Knyazev would have at least one teammate that speaks Russian (to help him get acclimated to playing in North America). If he suddenly turned into The Real Deal, then so much the better--but he was pretty far down the Lock Monsters' depth chart anyway.

In any case, it's a very safe bet that after this little stunt he for sure won't be back next season.

What a dumbass. Heroin!? WTF? Pot I could *maybe* let slide--but ridin' the brown freaking horse?!

It's a good bet he won't be anymore.

It's not that surprising really. If you think drugs are a problem here in the US, you should see what Russia is like. 5% of the population has an IV drug problem, which, I hardly need tell you, is really high.

By the way, new to the boards. *waves to Camille*
