With everyone who's come and gone through SNL, I can't even begin to name the sketches on SNL that I have laughed so hard about. Chris Farley was one of my faves. I also seem to be one of the 6 people on earth who finds Norm MacDonald to be one of the funniest guys on SNL.

SNL - Those classics going back to 1975 are hard to beat. Through the years they've been up and down. Dana Carvey doing Robin Leech, "I'M YELLING AND I DON'T KNOW WHY!!" Jimmy Fallon doing his all-in-one 80's song. Good stuff.

I would've had a tough time picking if Monty Python were on the list. Second City TV could be worthy of an honorable mention. But hands down, I never laugh so hard watching TV as I do at some of the skits on "Whose Line". Ryan Stiles is my favorite. Maybe because he resembles Jesse Boulerice. When he imitated the old bird toy that bobbed up and down drinking out of the water glass... priceless.

Darryl Hammond as Sean Connery: I'll take the rapists for $200
Will Ferrell as Trebek: OK ... that's Therapists for $200

It's hard to say what's my favorite, so I voted for the Python crew because that humor will stand the test of time better than the others. I hope SNL will last forever and continue to morph like it has. I've watched it since the beginning, and some of the funniest things I have ever seen have been on that show. There's way too much crap and way too many commercials on it, but still...

I agree with he comment posted earlier about "Whose Line Is It Anyway?". That's the show I now watch the most for a laugh. I was bummed when it was canceled, but I have a feeling it will be back as a summer replacement and they'll make at least a few more new episodes. I think I've seen them all, but with truly good comedy, you can laugh over and over at the same things. Which is exactly why "Airplane!" is the funniest movie ever to me, and why I have the complete archives of Mad magazine.

Whose Line... is absolutely fantastic, and definitely the best comedy show in the last five or so years. I honestly can't name an episode that's bad, despite there being a couple of performers (I don't know what it is, but the female performers other than Kathy Griffin and Whoopi Goldberg have never been that swift...just MHO) and games (Never been the biggest Hoedown fan) that aren't that great. There's at least one thing every episode that never fails to have me lose it. The British original is good too, but not nearly as good as the American version...I've always liked Drew Carey more than the British host. I love how Drew would make fun of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, my most favorite moment being when he gave a billion points to the performers, and said "Feel the heat, Regis.". :D

As for Ryan Stiles looking like the Bull, I've never thought about it, but he kind of does! :D Which reminds me of a GREAT episode where they played Superheroes, and Ryan was Ice Hockey Boy. (Something like that) He did everything from cross-checking (Which, Colin as Director Man said he should put more emotion into) to sitting in the penalty box to even saying "Frankly, I don't give a puck.". :D The sad thing is I've only seen the episode once, and *really* wish they would show it again so I could record that part...it would make for a great interlude on one of my game tapes. :)

I loved the SNL from the 70's. The best years IMO even though there were some good ones later on too. Don't watch it much anymore though. the last few years it's really lost something.

Kids in the Hall is very funny too and Monty Python is classic.

Who's Line is great, but I like the British version better. I could make one of those "I am a BBCAmerican" commercials :D

Though I love the American version of Whose Line more, I absolutely adore quite a few British comedies...afterall, I was one of the ones vocal in making Monty Python a choice. ;) But anyway, my favorite BritComs are...

Absolutely Fabulous
Are You Being Served
Black Adder (Especially the second (Elizabethan Era) and third seasons (Regency Era))
Father Ted
Fawlty Towers
Keeping Up Appearances
My Hero
The Office
The Thin Blue Line
Three Non Blondes (I've only seen one episode of this, and it was HILARIOUS.)

That's my wife and I with DAVE FOLEY from Kids In The Hall! I'm the one on the right  . We met him on a trip to Toronto to see the Hurricanes play. This was shot about an hour after the game at Wayne Gretzky's restaurant. We went to see the Kids In The Hall live about a month later in London (the one in Ontario, just down the highway from Toronto ;)) and had all 5 members autograph this pic (that's what the squiggly lines are) and a magazine cover they were featured on. I just thought I'd share.

Thanks, you're not bad yourself.

They probably covered it up since Harry Connick Jr.'s character is only supposed to be on in a limited capacity, and having him and Grace get pregnant (while the Leo character was overseas) would be too hard to explain. I think they did a great job storywise keeping the show fresh, but a terrible job keeping her belly hidden.

Aaryn

PS: I still think my theory where Grace wakes up from running into the lightpole while on her way to be inseminated with Will's "swimmers", thus making the past couple season a dream (ala Dallas), could STILL happen. That way Grace would never have gotten married, Stan would never have died, and just MAYBE Will and Grace would have a baby together.

But hands down, I never laugh so hard watching TV as I do at some of the skits on "Whose Line". Ryan Stiles is my favorite. Maybe because he resembles Jesse Boulerice. When he imitated the old bird toy that bobbed up and down drinking out of the water glass... priceless.

What about him as carol channing?
"I am spartacus!"

We're everywhere. There's a theater opening in Carrboro, but they also do shows in Raleigh and Chapel Hill, and on both campuses (there are student-only teams at State and Carolina, though the things we say are far more offensive).
