The Wolfpack was looking to finalize its Signing Day with a bang, and landing the country's top defensive tackle certainly qualifies. At a press conference at Dudley High School in Greensboro, N.C., this afternoon, DeMario Pressley announced that he would attend NC State. The 6-4, 285-pounder is a five-star prospect, according to Rivals.com.

UNC Basketball Recruit Arrested During Drug Bust
Eastern Alamance Star Is State's All-Time Leading High-School Scorer
UPDATED: 2:30 p.m. EST February 4, 2004
MEBANE, N.C. -- The Alamance County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that JamesOn Curry -- who has signed to play basketball at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill next season and the state's all-time leading high-school scorer -- was arrested on drug charges Wednesday morning.
UNC basketball recruit JamesOn Curry was among 49 Alamance County students arrested on drug charges Wednesday.
Sheriff's office spokesperson Randy Jones said Curry -- who goes to Eastern Alamance High School -- was among 49 Alamance County students arrested on charges of selling and possessing drugs during a sweep of the county's high schools.
All the suspects are charged with either selling, possessing, or using drugs like marijuana, Ecstasy, and OxyContin.
UNC Basketball Recruit Sets State Scoring Record
Curry is charged with two counts each of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, two counts of sale and delivery of marijuana, and two counts of possession and selling and delivering a controlled substance on school grounds.
The bust targeted all the schools in the Burlington-Alamance School System. Authorities said the bust culminated a five-month probe that was prompted by concerns of parents and school officials.
Officials said in addition to whatever action is imposed by the courts, students will face stiff penalties from the school system. All students will face at least a long-term suspension.
Eastern Alamance's next game is at home Friday against Northwood.
Curry scored 41 points in a 84-76 victory against High Point Andrews in December to set the state's career scoring record. He broke a record that had stood for 44 years, surpassing Cotton Clayton's mark of 2,758 points.

What a waste! The Big Four have been looking at this kid since he was a freshman......hopefully, this won't effect his future too adversely.
The good news is this is where my kid goes to school and she wasn't one of the ones who got arrested! :smoke:

I agree Icy.. he had the world in the palm of his hands and he pissed it away... I don't think Roy Williams will give him the benefit of the doubt and by the way he looked on tv, I think he knows it!
Glad your daughter was ok! ;)
