I'm gonna pass on a discussion I had with a trainer today, I'm lucky enough to be having my hip treated on by the same doctor who sets training programs for the hurricanes and carolina panthers teams.
When I heard he worked with the players I bombarded the man with questions
He told me the reason Brindy's groin is going so much is get this
WEAK ABDOMINALS?
He said that his legs are so far stronger then his abs that its causing his groin to pull and it happens alot as players get older because they've got so much lower horsepower as they get older their abs may be cut, but might not have much stength behind them as they did in years past.
I never woulda guessed thats why he's having so many problems this year.
in other news, its preety cool to have a trainer whose that recognized in Carolina :P

If Brindy has weak abs then I have an elephant trunk growing out of my forehead... he is the best conditioned athlete on the team.. His body is one big muscle...I am not a trainer/Dr., but I sure don't see how that can be..

Maybe its just that his legs are that much stronger than his abs... not that his abs are "weak".

I didn't want to say anything, but since you brought it up... we all thought it was just a mole... ;) **You know we love ya, Mo!**
I think this is the same problem Mike Piazza had last season. He spent months strengthening "his core" with a personal trainer to prevent future problems.

yea he said my core couldnt balance out my leg strength
heh, my abs are like blub :P I can't find time with college to do sit ups enough to make them stronger.
I pulled my hip flexor 3 times this football season
I was more then ready to hang up my cleats til coach found this guy
Yea i worded it wrong his legs are much stronger then his abs, your abs serve as power transporter in a sense
When your run your arms swing creating more power your abs transfer that to your legs, if your abs are to weak then not only are you losing power but you get hurt, alot.
2 Years of hip and hamstring injuries, I can preach it but man I cant do it lmao

That's pretty damn cool :)
BTW, the doc that fixed Boughner's knee fixed my ankle a few years back. Look down at your foot, now imagine it folding to the inside and being able to see your sole. Yeah, that hurt.
I was able to walk with little trouble within a couple of months. He's an awesome surgeon.
