So, did anyone else go? It's run finished tonight and I went to the final showing (5 p.m.) It was a lot of fun with some pretty spectacular stuff! I think it's been here since about mid March at Triangle Town Center..... That Toyota of Durham commercial guy was in attendance and I chuckled a bit when I saw him. I seem to see him around EVERYWHERE and I always immediately think of his ludicrous commercials.....

I didn't get to it - though I kept thinking we should.
We've seen La Nouba, which is the show that's on the Walt Disney World property in Orlando. It was most exceptional. Definitely want to take in another Cirque show in the future.
The show there was so elaborate, with huge parts of the set emerging from the floor, etc. I was curious about how it was in a traveling tent?

I also went to La Nouba @ Walt Disney World, two times actually. My first time was in September of 2001 (Just a couple of days after September 11th...still blows my mind how I was at, of all places, Disney World, when that happened. :eek2:  ) Anyway, my first experience was ok, but could have been MUCH BETTER had it not been for not one but TWO very annoying families near me and my family. The first family was one next to me that consisted of a little boy and his parents. The boy was easily the better behaved of the three. For some odd reason, the parents kept telling the boy to "Shut up!", when he wasn't doing anything that heralded such commands. And we're talking not whispering the said words, but YELLING them. But they were the tip of iceberg...the second family was one behind me and my folks. They came in late, and were loud and obnoxious from the get-go. The kids kept kicking our chairs. And the family kept carrying on conversations about various subjects from the show itself to just crap. The last straw was the kids and mother making stupid comments like "Oh my god! He can actually stand on the wire!" or yelling "Hey!" to the acrobats, seeing if they could distract them. It was these comments that gave me the only indication that these people were actually watching the show. I was tempted to actually turn around at one point and say to the family "Oh my god! He can actually screw up and fall if you don't SHUT UP!". But, being the somewhat nice people we try to be, my family and I just glared at the offending families and/or did the traditional "Ssssshh!".
Thanks to that, my family and I easily decided that we wanted to see La Nouba again the next time we visited the Realm of the Mouse. So, when we returned in late April/early May last year, my dad got tickets for much better seats (Five rows from the stage!) than the ones we had before (Near the top of the tent.). Also. the show was at a better time (In the evening...) than before (...as opposed to late afternoon, when more families with little children attend.). Well, thanks to those factors, we had a MUCH BETTER and more enjoyable Cirque Du Soleil experience than the one before. La Nouba is a very amazing and awesome showcase of circus talents, acrobatics, and very surreal dreamscapes and imaginings. Just like the stunts and acts performed, the sets, costumes, and music have to be seen and heard to be believed. My brother and I loved the music so much that we got the CD of it at the Cirque store a couple of days later. The humorous parts with a duo of clowns are very well done too, and make for great interludes. Overall, La Nouba is definitely a must-see whenever you're in Orlando, FL, regardless of if you're spending the majority of your time in Disney World or Universal.
Unfortunately, I never got to see Dralion while it was here in Raleigh. Oh well...perhaps it will return in a year or two.

I went to Dralion the first week it was here. I really liked it, the preformers were outstanding and the comedy guys were pretty funny...

Eileen, it actually worked very well. There was a large back wall to the set that people came out of as well as climbed down. Also many of the performers popped up from underneath the main stage. Nothing really came up from the floor though in terms of props, it was wheeled out there. I thought the clowns were also very funny canesgal. I loved the way they talked and bounced around!
