Sometimes I see people on here in the wee hours of the morning, which leads me to ask: when do you go to bed?

I voted midnight-1 but lots of nights I have something on my mind and don't go to bed until the "wee" hours..

Exact same thing here. Most of the time it's around 12:30, maybe 12:45, but on weekends when I'm with friends it'll be like 3, 4am, or if I've got a big load of homework and I don't get started 'til late.

I have to get up for work at 6:15AM. If I'm not in bed by midnight, I'll be hurting the next morning.

Well after 2 AM, though I probably shouldn't. Sometimes I'm up til 4, but that's not a great idea. I just hit my second wind reaaally late, I guess.

I'm a late night person. I used to weld on second shift just to get a break from the heat and the traffic during the day. Everything is so much calmer at night.

I average 1-2, I'd say. When I don't have a morning class I'll often be up til it starts getting light, lol. Definitely a night person. Last night, however, I went up to bed before 11....of course I read until midnight but that's still early for me.

I try to go to bed between 12 and 1 because we need to leave the house for work at 7:00 (which is what time we seem to get out of bed) but we stay up later than that more often than we should.. (like last night and I am draggin ass today!)

I'm usually in bed by 11 or 12 since I get up at 6 but on the weekends it could be significantly later.

I'll usually go to bed at 10:30...after I get home from work/'Canes game is over. Then I'll wake up at 4 or 4:30 to get my homework done.

I opted for the midnight to 1 AM slot. My husband usually leaves for work around 10:15. Once he leaves, it's time to put away a load of laundry, get clothes ready for the kids for the next day, etc. I usually crawl into bed around 11:30 but watch a couple mindless shows to wind down (usually MASH).

If it's a night he's off, I tend to go to bed earlier (around 10:30). All of those chores should be done by him the next day.

I get up for work at 6 am and even on the weekends I get up early (by 7:30) so I try to get to bed by 11. Doesn't always happen, especially if there is a Canes' game. I am not a night owl at all. Never have been.

All you night owls, have you always been night owls, even as young children? One of my nephews is a real night owl and they had a terrible time getting him on a bedtime schedule as a baby.

I don't know about when I was really young (my dad won't remember) but I have been for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid in elementary school I'd have a book and a flashlight under my covers and after my parents tucked me in I'd read for a few hours. I just never could go to sleep at a decent hour. I'd much rather sleep during the day and stay up all night....unless I'm trying to study for an exam! Then I want to go to bed, lol.

I usually go to sleep around 2 AM, but some nights I am up 'til around 3/much later. I don't have class until 11:30 AM, so there's no need to get to bed early. Tonight will be one of those, as I have to write a report on a book that I haven't read yet. Yay.

I've been a night owl for as long as I can remember...back to before I was 10.

Yes. Getting me to bed at a "reasonable" hour resulted in Mom pulling at me while I held onto the doorframe with both hands. lol I go to bed early and that causes me to lay there staring at the wall for hours. I have a sleep disorder related to FMS, so I don't know if this is common with the other owls or not.

Yep...once a night owl, always a night owl. My folks forced me to go to bed from two-five years old, with me always kicking and screaming and such. They gave up when I was around five-six years old. :D

I have a sleep disorder as well - three children. Fortunately, it will go away when I die. :-)

I'm also an absolute night owl. It should be illegal to wake up before 10am.

Actually, I hear that they do. I just sort of wake up wherever I am around 10. :-)

I was a cartoon watcher too - up at the crack of dawn. Then I got to be about 11 years old and I've never seen a morning I looked forward to since. :-)

I can remember one time, me and my sister snuck out of bed at like 4am on a weekday to watch cartoons. We had planned it the night before, sly little things that we were, but much to our displeasure, there was nothing but excercise programs on, even on the Disney channel. When we heard our parents door open, we both immediatly tried to scuttle away and hide, neither of us bothered to turn off the TV. My mom came into the living room, Mockey Mouse and friends "Mousercizing" on the box, and both of us trying to hide under the coffee table...

LOL, very good, moonstomper!

I remember waking up at 4 or 5am as a younger kid (maybe 8 or 9 years old) to watch the early morning SportsCenter or re-broadcasts of hockey games from the night before (especially in the playoffs).

What mystifies me is people who have to get-up early for work, but then on days they're off, they can sleep until noon.

I have such a strong internal alarm clock, that even on Sat. morning, I'll wake up at 6:15AM. I know I don't have to get up, so I try to go back to sleep, but I'll just snooze off and on to the point where I finally just go ahead and get up. If I'm in bed past 8:00AM, that'd be quite unusual for me. I just can't sleep in-- it doesn't work.

That is definitely me! Get 5-6 hours of sleep/night during the week and 12-13/night on the weekend!

You're missing the key words there: have to. I could sleep til noon everyday but apparently they'd flunk me out of school for that.

I guess I'm just a morning person....

Actually one of my favorite things to do on a Sunday morning is wander outside about 7:30 and get the Sunday newspaper. Then I take it back upstairs to bed, fluff up my pillows and read it in bed with my dogs snoozing all around me.

I might drift back to sleep for an hour or so, then around 9:30, hubbie and I will make breakfast together or go out to eat, followed by hanging out at Borders sipping a cappuchino.... I really love a lazy Sunday morning.....
