Well, here we are, the season is over. After an incredible SCF run, we were faced with watching our team break apart little by little. But when i look back on all the great moments of the season, beating detroit, shutting out dallas, watching great rookies get goals in their 1st nhl games, i'm left with a smile on my face. i remember the thrill of what happened last year, but i also remember the good times from this year, as well. No, we didn't make it this year. But that's ok...we'll be back next year, stronger than ever.
In spite of all the heartbreaking, negative things that have happened to the team this year, i love them. they are our Carolina Hurricanes. Our 2002 Eastern Conference Champions. I for one cannot wait to see where they can go from here!
Thanks Canes for everything and I hope your off-season is a good one! Go CANES!

Oh yeah! I definitely can't wait for next season! As we've all said, nowhere to go but up, nowhere to go but up. I'm confident we can make the playoffs next year. And that's the best place to start. Once a team's in the playoffs all bets are off for the most part.

What you said Hyena...I know it's over six months until the next NHL season begins. But, after seeing the outstanding performances from our rookies and knowing how the injured veterans returning are going to make a HUGE difference alone...I just know the Canes are going to kick absolute butt next season. And just imagine if the team is already going to be great with the returning veterans, just imagine how they'll be with Bayda, Malec, St. Jacques, and one or two other rookies returning... :spin:

Panger said it best (several times!) during the telecast today--this is a team that is built for the playoffs and all the low-scoring games that come with it. The problem, however, is getting there in the first place.
