He's been suspended. Apparently, he'd like to tell our moderators and myself how to run this board. I guess he got cheesed because Mona left because of the O thread, even though the thread stayed pretty civil. Mona left of her own accord, and I hope we'll all welcome her back when and if she decides to return.

However, this kid got the idea we "let that thread get out of control" but we'd ask people to keep their language toned down in other threads. Even though no bad language occured in the O thread.

So he sent some rather unpleasant PM's to all of us, and through the grapevine I've heard to some of you as well. Not to mention being warned on numerous occasions about many other things.

Now he's on CH.com making posts like this:

Most of you like a good forum, how about one that has Mod's and looks about as good as this forum right here, I was banned over the fact user's we're leaving and the Mod's would threaten to close threads that were non abusive and keep threads that were tearing the board down? Thier not canes fans thier dictators, check out the tridead forum and or the offthepost forums, Letsgocanes.com is close enough to saying HereWeGoHitler.com

The Mod's did the same thing I did except they *****ed with power.

I find that funny being he seems to dislike Guyute a great deal, yet recommends the very board Guyute runs...

Then there's this little gem:

I gave the mods **** after mona left because they'll tell you watch your mouth in a religous or a political thread but yet when a Debate as strong as O'Neill that can turn people against each other comes up they let it go, 0 consistency in the way the boards run, and I knew I was close to being banned so I finally let em have it, they've been up my ass for months about small things, I'm sorry I dont use a period here and thier but you dont need to ***** me off for it. I'll be back cause I know whats blocking me, I'm not stupid, i'll change my IP address tonight lmao. And my e-mail and my nickname, OOO you really thought you got me Guyute.

If the place is so bad and you don't like it here, why bother trying to come back?

Personally I don't care if you change your IP a hundred times and email a thousand, if you keep acting like a little high school brat, you'll get banned every time.

So don't act like this. I think the place has stayed pretty civil, but if we need to weed down some people to make the place smaller but with more quality, I'm all for it.

Edited to add: The mod over there (Ref107) and I were on MSN and he wanted to know what murda/energia/legend had done over here. I gave him some of murda/energia/legend's "classic" posts and a basic background on his behaviour. Ref107 said he would give murda/energia/legend a warning. He also thanked us for being a great example of how a postboard should be.

Of course a rule doesn't exist, it's just odd. It's like finding a Cane fan thats moding a Red Wings board. Sure, they exist somewhere, but very rare indeed.

Marcus is a mod on ch.com partly because he helped Kevin Clark get the new board up and running, but mostly because he has moderating experience (he currently serves as one of the moderators for the Vancouver Canucks' official boards in addition to his duties on ch.com).

I wouldn't be opposed to a blog section, but if they're going to be hockey-related, I think the game threads work much better, simply because people want to comment on each other's thoughts. I've always thought of the game threads as community blogs.

as an aside since you called out all the scout.com boards with "any other".... the 'Canes board there (scout, fanhome, several links get you there) is very civil and intelligent, gets a good mix of hockey fans all over the world since there's boards for every team to bring people in, and there's also at least a recognizable overlap with some of the folks here... Sorry, had ta stand up for my home board a bit ;) no comment though on the specific college boards linkable through scout.com.. i don't have the time for 'em... :p

I wouldn't think so... a blog is more centered on one main author, then everyone else comments, right? Seems redundant to blog on a message board site, each thread is like a mini-blog already, and anyone can be the author...
