I'd like to see a team from the southeast (tampa) win the cup!
On the grand scheme of thigns as long as a candian team doesn't win I'll be pleased!

Naturally I am pulling for the Flyers...but our team in not doing so well right now...our players have seemed to forget how to score as of late once again as well as the goalies forgot how to stop the puck like usual...So if the flyers get knocked out I will be hoping for Tampa

Pulling for Flyers or Tampa Bay.
Just as long as Detroit doesn't win, it'll be all good. (Sorry! Just don't wanna see it happen!)

I'm thinking the Flames will go the Finals. Where, following in the footsteps of the Canes & the Ducks, they'll lose to Ottawa in 6.

I'd love to see Nashville win - I'd also like no calorie full fat ice cream and free gasoline. A Jag would be nice too. And a pony.

Calgary or Philly. I'll probably switch it 10 times or so before the thing is over though.

I want to see a team win who hasn't won before or recently......except for Tampa Bay who I want swept by the Isles. I'd love to see Ottawa, Nashville or Calgary win. It wouldn't kill me if San Jose or St. Louis win.

Detroit, of course. But if they get eliminated i'm going to root for Calgary and Ottawa.
It would make me incredibly happy if the Leafs were to get eliminated or swept in the first round (no offense to any of you Francis fans).

I want to see Boston-Jersey in the East and I'd LOVE to see Detroit-Colorado in the West, which would be a hell of a series, but I don't see that happening...

I'm pulling for Vancouver and anyone other than Detroit in the West and I don't really have a favourite in the East yet, but then again I haven't finished doing my playoff pool picks ;).
Bottom line............... I really don't care who wins since our guys aren't in the playoffs, as long as Shanahanky doesn't get his hands on another Cup.

I guess I'll be pulling for my picks in the LGC pool :D
Seriously, I've always been the "pull for the underdog" type, though I'd like to see Tampa Bay at least get to the conference finals. I like Ottawa, too. Maybe because they've had some high scoring teams the last few years that doesn't exactly translate to playoff hockey where good defense and goaltending seem to prevail. In the west, "anybody but Detroit or Colorado" is my theme. Though I haven't spent a lot of time this year watching the west. basically because their the "other conference" and their games come on a bit late for me, I'm a bit partial towards Calgary.

As Calgary is a sparkplug kind of team with a Cinderella goaltender in Kiprusoff and a washed-up starter with something to prove in Turek, I'd like to see them win. Them or San Jose/Nashville. I like underdogs, I guess. I've gotten over the Ronnie thing enough to cheer for him, but I still don't like it. Damn Leafs.

San Jose
Tampa Bay

I hear that town has a lovely park. :p
I'm pulling for Detroit and Philadelphia, but I'm open to suggestion as the series advances. As long as the Blues and the Avs go down in flames, I'm alright.

I'd be pulling for any team that Francis got traded to - unfortunatley it was a Canadian team so I can't do that.
My favorite memory of our run to the Cup Chamionship was knocking off the 2 Canadian teams. A bar I go to still has a sign up -
Hurricanes 2
Canada 0
So I am going to be pulling for the Devils because a good friend of mine would kill me if I don't, plus I like Broduer.

Man, what'chu guys got against Canada?
I'm going for Flyers, Preds, Sharks, Canucks and a little bit of Calgary.
Really, all it boils down to for me is anyone but Toronto!!!!! Or Boston! I can also do without Detroit, Colorado, Dallas and St Louis. Do you see a trend here? If the media is up their butt, I'm not interested. :D I also like to spread the wealth, so no Devils.

Like Sparky, for me it's the Sens in the East and the Flames in the West. Before the Bertuzzi affair, I would have pulled for the Nucks, mainly cuz I like Jovo and Harry.

Gotta go with the division..... Tampa Bay, but rooting for Ronnie to get more assists and goals(but not enough for Toronto to win anything).

let's go redwings.....let's go redwings..ducks, runs, and looks for a good place to hide  (really though, it pains me to see so many people rooting for Nashville.)

It's really nothing against the Wings.....I just love an underdog. Besides, they've won the Cup what? 3 times in the past decade? You can't be surprised non-Wings fans don't think they need another one. It's someone else's turn. It's all about the new blood (Preds, Sharks, Flames) and the old loyalties (Flyers, 'Nucks) for me. :)
If it really is painful I'd give the advice that you avoid the thread dedicated to that series once it's started. You can ask RIO. We don't mean to but we tend to roll around like dogs in the Red Wings' blood whenever it's spilled. It's nothing personal.....oh, wait, yeah it is. Hey, they beat us in 2002. What did you expect? :p ;)

04-07-2004, 09:30 AM
oh trust me, SHC, I know the reasons why..but it still pains me. I don't mind it, I just accept that the wings are sort of like the Yankees of hockey in some ways...which is sort of ironic given I hate the Yankees more than anything else in the world (just about).

But the Yankees dont choke in the first round and lose the first 4 do they?? :p :p
Sorry Rio, and J! ;)
*tsk*!! Oooooo, girl!!! *snaps fingers around head*
No really, I'm cool with the whole Wings thing. I love Detroit and I don't expect anyone else to do the same. But yes, avoiding certain threads during the play-offs can certainly ease one's blood pressure. I have it bad for the Red Wings. Yes, this makes me a very bad person. Yes, I'm okay with my slide into moral and ethical dissipation. LOL!! Dirty dirty and i love it!!
Lol at Chickie!! So THAT was all that red stuff you were covered in last year?! I thought it was Sno-Cone syrup. :D  *rolls on Chickie*

I'd like to see the Flyers take it and for Toronto to stay in it as long as possible for Ronnie to finish up with some good stats to end his career.
