Howdy, I'm Ami, I've posted a few things here and so I figured I should probably post an introduction. I'm a new hockey fan, having been converted by Canezilla from an NBA fan to a hockey fan. I am slowly learning hockey rules, about the blue line, and what icing is (note to self: it's not something on the top of a cake), and I am trying not to flinch too much when the puck comes flying wildly at us!! [Canezilla and I sat down on the ice for one game last season and I nearly died of fright when the puck BANGED against the glass .... yikes!!!I nearly dove behind his chair and threatened never to come back up ... ]

Stormbringer immortalized my 3-1/2 year old boy in a story about one of the games last year .... said little boy dropped his little hockey stick right on top of some poor hapless chap's head one level below us. Poor mommy (that would be me) was MORTIFIED ... but then another fearless STH by us went downstairs and fetched it for him. Mommy (that would be me) then hid said stick under Canezilla's chair so that said small boy would not drop it again and embarrass poor mommy (that would be me). ;)

I decided to become a full fledged Caniac and buy tickets for me and my son for next season (uhhhh, assuming there is a season). So we'll be joining the crew up in section 332 yelling Woo-Hoo at each and every goal. The little guy is particularly good at that. :) But he has alot of help from Canezilla and Captain Slack. :D

Alright, there you go. See y'all around the boards.

Welcome Ami!! Good to have you on the board and as a member of the Caniac horde!! :spin: Besides, any friend of CaneZilla and Captain Slack is a friend of ours!

Not to mention that dropping something on the head of someone likely in the Club level always earns points in my book. ;)

He has become the world's biggest hockey FREAK!! Ohmigod, he sees Canes logos all over town and points them out. He now has a Canes baseball hat too in addition to the jersey and miniature stick he got the night you were there with us. At one game, he astutely sat by Captain Slack's side and did everything that he did. Captain Slack stood up and yelled, stickdropper stood up and yelled. Captain Slack clapped, stickdropper clapped. Captain Slack yelled at the refs, stickdropper yelled at the refs. :) It was VERY cute. Stickdropper will be coming to most of the games with the whole crew up in 332 next season, we bought him a seat seeing as babysitters for 42 games in a row are hard to come by! :D

And yes, mama and stickdropper have had a series of long talks about proper stick maintenance. Which includes NOT DROPPING IT ON ANYONE'S HEAD!!!!! Argh!

Ah, glad to know my sidekick in training has come along nicely. :spin: He sounds ready for Hockey Bojitsu For Dummies, written by yours truly. I apologize about the title...I tried to get the people behind those books to let me change the name. I thought the point of such books was to help people realize something is easy to learn and help their self-esteem. Somehow, I think calling the readers "dummies" reverses that intention. But oh well, whatever sells...

Speaking of titles, hope Stickdropper doesn't mind the title of, well, "Stickdropper". ;) Grasshopper is too common...there are over one hundred of them here in the Raleigh phone book. (pulls out her copy, only to find a cover and the dust of gnawed pages) And they apparently were very hungry... Anyway, at least Stickdropper rhymes with Grasshopper. :D
